Guys, what's the best weapon to use against lagiacrus on the village urgent quest to fell it? I handled the first round perfectly well with my light bowgun but this time he's much tougher as he doesn't spend as much time on land. I've hit him with all kinds of ammo - the stuff that works well underwater and various levels of normal shot. I got him as far as limping but I ran out of time

Would I be better off with a bow with fire element or a bowgun with fire ammo? I'm reluctant to use a melee weapon as I feel that getting too close to it is risky.
