I thought I start a thread for reviews and gaming chat for this title.Hopefully the posty will pop it through my door and minute now but I've probably jinxed myself and it will turn up tomorrow

Been looking forward to this for months and don't think I've sat around waiting for the postman for a while just like the old import days
Is the sights and sounds DLC available in all retail stores or selected stores,I recieved my download code yesterday from shopto,which sounds good with a digital sountrack from the game,a theme and two avatars

The sights and sounds pack is available now on the PS Store
Its just popped through the letter box and is booting up as I type

Excellent atmosphere so far,great start to the game.The graphics engine seems silky smooth so far and the lighting is used to good effect.The sound is excellent as with uncharted this offers a DTS/Dolby digital 5.1 plus a 5.1/7.1 Linear PCM sountrack for even more nerve racking clarity
Well back to the game and will update on a regular basis

where did you order from edd? I made the error of ordering from zavvi (they are much better these days though) and it got dispatched yesterday. I'm hoping it'll have arrived when i get home tonight but I'm not holding my breath.

Still, it doesn't matter that much as my stupid girlfriend will be hogging the TV all night watching the goodwife and that ****ty ****ing show - Gashville.

This is the kind of game that should only be played at night time.

most of the opening chapter is in the day but there are a few derelict buildings that are dark and need the use of your flashlight

Mine Has JUST ARRIVED!!! from SimplyGames, I have booked the whole day to play it (her indoors agrees). I will begin in 30 minutes and post a review tonight.

Apart toilet breaks and food (brought to me in room) I am not stopping until it is done!!

So far its a nice game but I dont see how its a 10

Its very Metal Gear Solid : Uncharted Edition (with less freedom to roam). Which isn't necessarily an awful thing but it has alot of hand holding at the beginning and then it seems very rinse and repeat but in different areas.

Its a very nice looking game, and the combat with different weapons / bricks, bottles and pipes etc is nice. Just a few hours in it doesnt seem to be the standout blockbuster the reviews have been making out.

Agree this isnt a 10/10 game and you definetly need the lights off. Those Clickers are scary, erratic fukkers man. I've been playing on hard mode from the start. Great intro and character pacing, dialogue is spot on. I've noticed some textures are a little flat in places, not quite the graphical marvel I was expecting, Uncharted 2 had more wow landscapes, this is more grey and dreary but also fits the tone of the game.

Cant wait to start properly leveling up, there's lots of potential. The game starts slow and tense and it doesn't really release you unless you're scavaging/upgrading. The weapons and abilities you start with feel like Resi/TR which are piss weak as you'd expect. You know you're getting stuff to prepare you for the next onslaught which only adds to the atmosphere.

so far, so good but not a 10/10. Hopefully there'll be more mad set pieces which'll change my mind but generally quite pleased. If anything this is the direction Resi 5/6 should have taken after 4.

Just everything I hoped it would be.

I'm looking forward to multi player too.

Yeah, why do they always release these games when there is maximum daylight. I remember playing the original RE on the Playstation in the middle of a boiling hot summer. Had to wait until 10pm to start playing to get the atmosphere.
