Haven't popped mine into the console yet. I'm spying on the box as I eat dinner. So far, I give the game an 8 as I moisten with excite.

Ok So I am 5 hours or so into the game here are my impressions (please note I have not red any other posts on here as I do not want to spoil my experience with the game.
So far it has been great. It is a slow burner at first, then steadily ramps up. The voice acting, graphics sound etc are all top notch. Playing headphones on, the sound of impact when hit/shoot enemies is really good. The story so far is really good and you get into it more and more. I can't tell anything about details as this would spoil it for others.
Having completed Uncharted 2 and 3 just a few weeks ago, I can confirm this game is different. The lead is not a super hero who can do death defy leaps etc. instead, he is just a guy and all his actions are I guess what a "normal" person might be capable of.
I am really enjoying it (despite sometimes almost s******g myself!). I am gripped by the story, always short of ammo so near death encounters for me are quite frequent! There is real sense of tension in the game and it must be played loud or with headphones to ge the full experience.
Anyway back to it now I have had some food and drink!

Glad to hear it captures the true feeling of tension in the game. Finished Walking Dead recently and that was great at creating tense situations. If this does at least as good a job I know its going to get me on the edge of my bed when playing through it.
Who am I to doubt? It's Naughty Dog on PS3. Their mantra is to make games they themselves enjoy playing. Sounds like they're continue that trend strongly here.
Once I've got my mitts on a copy tomorrow might give multiplayer a look in the evening if any folks are interested.

So far so good. I'm still on chapter 2, it's quite engrossing but I've yet to feel scared. I'm playing on hard and the game is really intense but I guess after a while it kinda wares off. I like that I can take a stealth approach or an all out one if I have enough ammo but it's also possible to get caught, deal with the situation and then get back to stealth. So far I've used my gun twice as a last resort and I only have 16 bullets across two guns and I'm a bit of a hoarder.

I'm still very early on, about 90 mins but so far its exceptionally well produced with amazing visuals. However, I'm a tiny bit deflated, the incidental animation so far hasn't been of Uncharteds standards with npc's getting a little in the way or going through scripted moments then having no secondary stuff to keep the illusion going. It's also been ultra linear and I feel like that 90 mins has contained barely any gameplay bar tucking behind a few boxes. The main plot seems to finally be kicking in now so I'm fully expecting it to crank it up a notch which should mean I get to glimpse what has been praised so much, it's just a surprisingly slow and almost automated opener which is a shame.

Time played 7 hours 9 Minutes (on game clock)
What can I say, great graphics, sound, control, feel, music, tension and fear factor. Lots of stealth, fights, scary bits and great story. Voice acting is superb. Note to all parents of young children, do not play this near them without headphones, the language is strong.
Fatigue will beat me tonight and I want to stay fresh to enjoy it. I love this game. You have to be patient, you cannot run around or you will NOT last long. The sheer scale of the game is impressive, no backtracking, incredible attention to detail, it is totally immersive and my cup of tea. and it is way better than Bioshock (which I completed also). God only knows what these guys will do on PS4.
So back to it for the final go tonight, then I will continue tomorrow.
