What's the point, then? Odd.

I always find it interesting with people's opinions that they either decide to focus on the positive or with other games focus on the negative.
I think the game has some excellent production values; story, narrative, voice acting, environments etc. but I have some real beefs with it too...
The shooting is awful, it actually reminds me of uncharted 3s shooting, which I hated. its like they've deliberately made it crap so you don't use it; slow and unresponsive. I don't remember uncharted 2 being like this...maybe I have to try it again
I know they're pushing a lot having an AI traverse the world with you but as mentioned in another post it acts really dodgy quite a lot of the time. watching tem literally pass through clickers completely undetected seriously dull the experience.
Was 2 metres from a clicker, my gun ponted right at its head, I shoot and some how it survives! another runs around the corner (where the hell did he come from, I've just come from round that corner?!) I shoot the first one again but it grabs me anyway and I die....Completely frustrating death.
the game is good, but 10/10 - no way!

at the gate section where ellie has the rifle
I cleared all bad guys whilst undetected bar the 2 by the gate. I went back to look for an angle to headshot one of them through the scenery with an arrow and 2 more guys showed up out of thin air.
Despite the above I can't wait to get back to it and see what is around the corner for Joel and Ellie. I also want Manhunt remade for next gen.

Quick note, if you're talking about aiming that's intentional to represent Joe's so-so experience with firearms (like a normal person). If you're talking about hit detection then I agree on some occasions bullets don't seem to do anything at all to the enemies running towards you but I'm sure its to mix up the action in the game and keep you on your toes.
I won't say the exact length of time it took me to finish the game first time (there were a couple of pause and make a brew occasions in there) but its reaching RE4 levels of length as opposed to shorter campaigns players may be used to. That's good as I didn't feel like I was bored with the title at any point. A testament to the developers.
Anyone got any information on what the single-player DLC will be yet?

Finished this utterly brilliant and gripping game. Yes it isn't perfect, ally AI issues are the worst problem but rarely are they game breaking. Occasionally the shooting fails you to but that aside this game does so much right.
The characters and situations they are in are so brilliantly written. There is so much to discuss after finishing the game and so many ways of looking at the actions of the characters.
Gameplay is excellent too. Love the variety of ways you can engage enemies and if an approach fails you can try something else. Melee is satisfying, if a little basic but bricking someone never gets old.
Crafting system is fun, simple but effective as are the upgrades to the character.
Visuals are immense at times and the audio in 5.1 is piercing and changes the game. If you are playing through LCD speakers then you are doing it wrong.
I wont discuss the plot, too much to go into. If anyone wants to I will join in then. Other than that, this is one of the most emotional, engaging, tense and draining games I have played in many years. 10/10.

Oops, was so in to the game I nearly forgot to come pick my nephew up from work! Here with two minutes to spare though. Eighty odd percent done now. I don't give games tens, ever, but I think I'll have to with this though, amazing. Once I get back to the house I ain't going to bed until it's done.

Did many of you play on hard? For me it got really boring around the 5th chapter as enemy's just kept coming at certain points.
I know I'm to blame for my ridiculous amounts of game overs... I just can't bring myself to use a health pack in fear that I'll find a can of food or I'll get a health refil if I'm close to the chapters end and I don't feel like wasting bullets just incase. I spent most of this game walking around unable to pick up anything due to having maximum of everything.
I've now convinced myself to take a different approach. I'm dealing with each encounter as if my life truly depends on it and the game is a hell of a lot more fun haha. I run out of bullets at times and I'm actually crafting things. At first I thought I was being tactical saving all my things but after you stealth kill like 14 guys then get caught and die it becomes tiring... especially with the dodgy checkpoint system. Now I find when I go in there and think its me or them I'm a hell of a lot more tactical and fights tend to go my way and I'm not as low on resources as I'd fear.

Well, that's it, finished.
Is it flawed? Yes, in many ways. Did it bother me? Not to the point where I was frustrated or angry at the game at any point, when I died it felt like my **** up. I've never played anything like it, I've just been so completely drawn in by the story and characters so much that I've had to draw breath at times at some of the events, a real emotional rollercoaster at times. For me personally it's just been one of the most amazing things I've ever played. Sat in the dark, in full surround with a massive TV in front of me I just became totally immersed in it. People who know me on here know I struggle to get in to modern games, so this has genuinely been a massive gaming experience for me. As someone who hates exploration, weapons upgrading and all that type of stuff I can't believe how well implemented it all was, I wanted to do it, because I wanted to give the characters the best chance of survival. I'm going to have to give it a ten. It's not perfect by a long stretch, but I've given other games a nine on here and it trumps them all. Loved it.
Naughty Dog games on PS4? I'm in.
