Well, sort of a cheat really. I'm not good at making first play threads but I can tell you that this game kicks arse! If you liked the 3rd game then you'll love this. Forget about that western EDF I.A. rubbish, this is the real deal.

Anyway, the game has quite a lot of Japanese options so I've translated the menus for ease of use. These are translated from the 360 game but I guess the PS3 will be just the same.

Thanks Yakumo, you sir are a legend If possible could you translate the online mode menus ? I'm not demanding anything, just if you have the time It's the menus the most I could see being the biggest pain to navigate in setting up private games etc. Thank you very much for what you've done so far anyway!

Also, I'd like to give a big **** you to Fedex. Due for delivery yesterday but the driver 'Couldn't find my address' despite me living on a main road. Useless sods.

Done up to Mission 13 now on Normal and so far its very easy so veterans are fine to dive in hardcore. I've probably faced off about 4-5 enemy types so far and the numbers keep on climbing, I've had upwards of 30-40 in the area along with civilians and troops. Levelling armour etc is gonna take a long time too, the skies are filling now. The enemy awaits...

I'll have a go at translating some of the online menus. Theres an awful lot and there's no way I'm doing the speaking menus. Man, they're great but a lot of work to look through them all.

Played normal mode up to stage 23 so far and loving every minute of it. I also had a few rounds online. Pretty cool playing in a team.

Whatever you do, if you do them, is cool Yakumo I don't think anyone would expect detailed translations of everything if you were to do it, just the basic menu options within the online mode really.

I want to play this so badly, don't fail me on Monday Fedex!

Not sure if the game glitched or I'm missing something but on Mission 13 I was still going after a solid hour of bug stomping, my entire team was long dead and in the end I had to turn the game off as there was no end in sight (!?!)

Didn't see any unless you mean the ships that drop the enemies. Gonna be hardwork if I have to take them out, they're miles up in the air. Will give it a go tomorrow

Sounds like a glitch. Saying that, on stage 23 (I think it's that stage), there is a smallish high rises city that has a few big robots dotted about and the big drop off ships plus the mother ship blasting the **** out of the city. I can take out all of the robots and the big drop off ships but after that there's nothing you can do, There are some of those small ships flying around the mother ship but they never come down and the homing missile doesn't hit them. You can't even damage the mother ship so I'm stuck with nothing to do. The mother ship keeps blasting the crap out of the city and the small ships just circle it. There's nothing to kill, nothing that can damage the mother ship. I have no idea what to do now There are no nests on this stage either so that isn't the problem. I tried the satge 3 times too but each time the same problem.

So err, I bought EDF on Vita and before I go any further - it might be a really poor version of the game... But I really couldn't get into it.... Bit bland for me personally...

...This one more of the same (i.e an acquired taste...) or more revamped and interesting, thus worth the import??

Don't kill me lol, I just couldn't get into the Vita one...

It's best played in co-op on harder difficulties.
