I didn't like it at first and was annoyed with myself .

Left it a day and replayed the demo and loved it.

Decided I won't judge until I have the full game. I've seen and played enough to know this could be awesome - roll on release!

Well, it's ok as a bright and breezy button masher but the demo gives the impression that's all. The drawing mechanic is awful and the impression is there's nothing else to the game. As suspected, I might give it a go later when cheap but not taking the day one gamble on it.

That's like saying MH3U is just like a different version of Shenmue. This is nothing like Pikmin, it's a hack'n'slasher'n'shooter'n'smasher'n'etc...

This video seems to do a good job of correcting what everyone has said in this thread so far. It seems pretty deep to me.

That's a great video. This game looks fantastic.

I agree with CTN. The "drawing" is awful. It's like Pikmin in that you are controlling a group, although it could have just been called The Wonderful One, where you control a guy who can morph into either a big fist, big gun or a big sword, and the game would have been exactly the same. There seems no actual point in there being a group of them, when there are only three different weapons to choose from.
                Kept you waiting, huh?

Exactly. Therefore it's nothing like Pikmin.

The more dudes you get the more powerful and potent your Unity abilities become. You can actually offset various attacks eventually, up to five at one time.

If you wanted to delegate separate commands to 100 units at once it would be "just like" Pikmin, and utterly confusing in a hack'n'slash/beat 'em up environment.

20 hours for a first play, not counting the hundreds of potential hours spent on achieving Pure Platinum grades.

I still fail to see the point in the group element, when they are all essentially one of three guys, just with different outfits. You could use power-ups to strengthen your attacks over collecting more dudes, and the screen would be less cluttered. I'm quite sure the actual game will be much better, but if it is 20 hours of the demo content, then I will not be getting it. I was hoping for super hero stuff, not just beating up baddies.

That vid has lots of great tips, thanks for that - I've been really enjoying the demo, but now it's time to start developing some technique Day one for me.

What is the group attack for? It serves no real purpose.

I just can't get on with this title. It seems devoid of any actual point to me. You could just spend the entire time mashing A with any of the three weapons. It's not like certain enemies require the use of different weaponry to defeat them.

To to say I am vastly underwhelmed by this demo is an understatement. It is not at all what I was expecting it to be. I'll be keeping a close eye on the actual game just in case it actually turns out to be good, but currently I don't see why it wasn't a single guy, and you switch between weapons with a button, if at all. They could have just called it Viewtiful Joe: Streetwise.

                            Thread delivers!

J0e, I've not played the demo yet but from the Nintendo Direct alone I know there are weapons that work better against other enemies, plus you can use multiple simultaneously too. Watch the last half of the ND and watch the good ****.

I can't even get it cheap later down the line, as I D/L everything now. I'm just not going to bother at all. Besides it'll only encroach on my monster hunting, which has what's happened with my 3DS of late. Having more than two games on the go at any given time is crazy if you aks me.

There are weapons that work better but for the whole demo attack wise you only ever need the sword. I did the whole thing easily with that.
