Call of Duty Ghosts review

So I hopped back onto this after a month or so off to put some games into the new clan wars event, now I've once again had my connection upgraded to this:
I'm still finding no issues what so ever with lag or host problems (on Xbox One)
My connection is now faster than 94% of people.
After an initial getting used to the game period where I was playing pretty terrible and not enjoying the game at all (my K/D was 0.5-ish) I have now totally adjusted to both the Xbox One and Ghosts itself, I tend to get a Helo Pilot almost every game, my K/D is usually hugely positive and I love my class setup.
Titanfall is released soon and after playing the Beta I'll definitely be picking it up but I feel its different enough to Call of Duty to maybe keep at both games, Titanfall feels great and refreshing to play but you won't get the sort of buzz from Killstreaks and such that Call of Duty is renowned for.
I have the Season Pass in Ghosts but as I usually play Clan orientated modes than I've yet to play much on the new maps, what I did play I enjoyed and the maps seemed cool.

Your ping is doing it for you and xbox one has the servers ps4 has fewer or none. Still I will be switching to Titanfall. Your dowload is awesome!

I have taken some screen grabs but the compression RUINS them.Even so, good fun SP to blast on an evening. How long is SP, 6 hours?

Cool Olly!
It's a good thing I haven't played COD for a long time, as the game feels just the same as all the others! Still enjoying it and almost feel guilty about it.
Frame rate is all over the place in some places on PS4 which I find very off-putting, otherwise it's COD and looks great. I really enjoyed the diving part, and respect for the dev's eye for detail.
Here is my Shearwater Petrel dive computer, next to it's brother "Predator" on a full closed circuit rebreather, (The same type of dive gear with no bubbles.) and after that you can see the computer on the diver (only seen when dieing after a shark attack.) OK, so the computer is in "Surface Mode" and should show depth time , but still, I was impressed!

There's a dev out there is also a diving nerd

With the DLC starting to hit I returned to this and I'm really struggling. More than anything it'e the lack of flow in the maps that stands out and how rigid it all feels. If the next map pack doesn't measure up I might draw a line under this entry and leave it till the 2015 one that Treyarch are working on.

After what seems a bazzzzzzillion gigabytes of updates...
The MP in this is a janky ole pile of ****. Framerate is shocking (PS4). Still no fix in sight, yet they keep pumping out the DLC.
Gaming is screwed with this attitude. How anyone can play this without getting a headache is beyond me. ****ing mess

Yeah its the same old sheeeaiiit with lag issues. The frustration of playing,& getting capped ridiculously all the time has turned from an aggressive controller punching/breaking reaction to a complete numbness now cos i really don't care about the game anymore. I will say that the maps have certainly moved in a more positive direction for me, including the last map pack.
Sadly i feel that its all too late, & unless they change this tired same old formula & sort out the lag/hit detection then they will either & die as there's other smaller devs out there already trying new & fresh ideas (yes i am talking about Titanfall)

Haven't been on this in a while as BF4 (when its working) and Titanfall are much more fun experiences. I did however pick up Black Ops 1 & 2 very cheap and had a couple of rounds of the first Black Ops which was an interesting throwback and one that showed just how inferior and entry this is. Everything except the resolution was better. I've no faith in Sledgehammer to do good this year either so it's an inposed break anyway.

I keep saying it, but Blk Ops was my favourite COD of the bunch. The look of it was dark n dirty & real, obtaining killstreaks was fairer, maps were great.
Overall i think Trey has made the best CODs as they tried to bring something fresh & new.
IW died a horrible death after MW1, & MW2 was the worst of the bunch. Me, my bro & a few mates went over to BFBC2 & MOH after the bad experiences of MW2, which sadly meant that i was late joining Blk Ops.
My bro & my mates never returned to another COD after MW2.
I cant see Sledgehammer veering off the usual COD course, altho I still think that the futuristic COD that they were working on (until they got pulled in to give IW some help with MW3) turnees out to be Blk Ops 2 which i think would have been very different if Trey hadn't worked on it.
I'm sure Trey will produce something fresh, but whether it'll be anywhere near what has been done in Titanfall remains,to be seenLast edited by EDDIE M0NS00N; 13-04-2014, 23:10.

I think that's what is keeping me hopeful, I've more faith in Treyarch than either IW or Sledgehammer and given they're making the first COD purely for next-gen systems in mind and having a 3 year dev cycle, they might be able to give the series the shot in the arm it now needs. If not we're likely looking at an irreversable decline.
