It's a really good game mart it's just let down by the lack of challenge and small dungeons but the dungeons themselves are smart and well put together and there's lots of nice distractions throughout the gameworld worth pursuing. The Hero mode difficulty really should of been offered from the start for us Zelda Veterans.

I completed Skyward Sword on Hero Mode and it was a nice challenge. Would be cool to have it from the start.

Finished this earlier this morning and I loved it. One of my favourite Zeldas in years and probably sits in my top five Zeldas edging ahead of LttP, while acknowledging that this game couldn't exist without that one. My only complaints would be there there really isn't much to the boss battles and they're all pretty much the same and then that the Turtle Rock dungeon was tiny and seemingly could be done without even seeing half of it.

But those criticisms are then countered by the amount of fun here, the amount of exploration and things to find which rivals just about any other Zelda game. It's not a hard game at all while still not being just a stroll through and so it's constantly rewarding play. It's a game that wants you to complete it. It has just about every strength of LttP for me while also adding the charm that I felt was a bit lacking in that one compared with others and making the whole thing more accessible and more immediate. It didn't outstay its welcome (LttP is the only Zelda that, as great as it is, I felt was too long).

So for me, this is probably my favourite post-N64 Zelda. A real treat and just tons of fun.

Easily one of the best 2D Zeldas but I have to admit it lost me as Lorule progressed. Very smartly thought out in many places but some of the dungeons are a little over simple for the series and Lorule lacks as much charm and fun for me as the earlier Hyrule sections did. Still a high point for the series in 2D but I prefer a few of the 3D entries to it.

Quick question to those who have hit 100% completion, is it a game where you can you through, beat the final boss(at sub-100%), save your game, reload and be able to explore the world map to get 100% and then kill the last boss again to get 100%?

I don't think there's saving after you beat the final boss, so yes, you can beat the boss and then load your save and explore the world more if you want.

I'm about ten hours in (blame the family being engrossed in Christmas telly), and am really loving it. Man, it's brilliant - really, really surprisingly respectful and smart way of doing a sequel to one of the finest games I've ever played. I played LttP when I was much younger so this is likely not a fair comparison, but this does feel a little easier. Dungeons being shorter isn't necessarily a bad thing given the format, but it's still making me think which is the main thing.

I have arrived at Lorule. Used around 7 hours so far. Absolutely loving the game, I appreciate for some the difficulty is easy, but I've never completed a Zelda game before (I know..... stoopid) and this one is just perfect for me. The puzzels are clever and make me use my brain in a way a game hasn't done for a long time. I love the fact you can approach things in your own way, and there are some many nice touches and details that make me smile. The music is gorgeous too.

One thing that has stopped my completion of Zelda games in the past is the boss battles. If you died you had to do the whole dungeon again. Is that the same with this one?

Hmmm... can't honestly remember. The boss battles are way easier in this one and all follow the same system. I never noticed having to make my way through any long route so it may be that you have to go through the dungeon again but the route is quick. It's not quite the chore it sometimes was in old Zeldas.

In most Zeldas if you die you can simply run through the dungeon again, you have always opened short cuts when completing the dungeon first time round.

/OT : Was that the same in WindWalker? I remember getting stuck at an enormous stone monster and gave up.

In this Zelda the dungeous are quite small, so I am sure it won't be too bad, but I will have to return to rent the equipment again. The fast travel will make that less painful.
