Killzone Shadow Fall [PS4] review

First things first the campaign is utter garbage. It is simply a tech demo loosely veiled as an fps. However the multiplayer after investing some time is great, I'm loving the feel of the gameplay and weapons. Never feel at a disadvantage and war zone is a nice mode when your team works together.

If they can add some good DLC the multiplayer could be pretty solid and from a launch title that is a success.

I had a go on the Campaign and even against the buggy mess of the BF4 campaign this just is really unstructured and needlessly hard. In some ways it just feels like it was rushed or obvious things were not fixed. An example is using the owl in the tutorial for some reason if you send it down it doesn't always kill the two guards in one. I would have thought as its essentially a tutorial that it would work every time just so you get the idea and its an easy starter. But it was like no one decided to fix it or thought it was good enough for release. Its a minor thing yes but its that kind of polish that makes and breaks games.

I think the multiplayer is kinda fun and reminiscent of COD, but more visually appealing. It does the job and competent in that area. Its just sad for all the lovely visuals in the campaign to it didn't have a bit more work to make it streamlined, engaging and fun.

I stuck this back on last night with the train of thought, "I've paid or it so might as well play it through". I just can't though, it's awful. Just, awful. And that's a real shame as I really do like the killzone games and universe. PSV killzone mercenaries absolutely destroys this as a game.

It's really badly structured, I only played the first three levels but found it very irritating.

I only played the opening and it was visually amazing. I really want to see how bad it is for myself!

Oh I'm not saying it's not good looking, it is, but it plays like a dog. The COD ghosts campaign is sooooooo much better. BF4 campaign too, even though the story and voice acting are ****e.

I find campaigns in Battlefield and CoD to be showy but ultimately very dull. There is absolutely no substance to them at all. BF4 does have insane visuals mind. The comments just make me want to play this more!

Dragged myslef back into the SP story, up to chapter 8. It is such a gorgeous looking game, and I want so much to like it more, but there is something with the design that just feels so confused and unfair. Is it just hard? Perhaps. Anyway, there have been some fun moments and all the space stuff is wonderful to look at. In retrospect I think it's slightly less dodgy than my first opinion, maybe more like a 7 with 11 for graphical design! Last 3 chapters have been played on the projector and that really brought home how good the game looks. Stunning

I really struggle to explain what the problems are with this campaign but it's just nit right. One thing it did do though was confirm that Sony have made a fair okd beast of a console. A launch title that looks this good bodes well.

I am really pleased to have put more time into it for the visual spectical. The game looks so far ahead of anything I've ever played. I wonder if it will be years before other devs catch up.

Game looks great, but its a pile of wank to play . Horridle level design, piss poor save points , confusing level objectives (what to do and where to go) make this one of the worst FPS i've played in years

I might give this another attempt later as I've nothing new to play. I'm not full of hope though.

Playing Ghosts SP which is much better. Looks-wise it is terrible compared to KZ though. I think KZ made me not want to even turn on the PS4 tbh.
