I've completed everything except ExtraOps, and also listened to the cassette tapes for the backstory etc. Aside from going through the slog of unlocking ExtraOps, doing all the secrets and getting all the rewards, there's not much else to really do. They've milked the one little area as much as they could and have done a very good job of doing it. It remains a must-buy for fans of the series.

But this will be bargain price in no time, and I hope less informed people aren't mislead by the name and think it's the actual Metal Gear Solid V.

Spent about 4 hours on this last night. Really enjoyable although I have to say I preferred Hayter's over-the-top voice acting. Haven't had a chance to try the Raiden mission yet so looking forward to that. The cameo in the game was brilliant too.

I was going to pick this up for the 360 today until I found out its pretty much full price over here going to wait a little. Instead I bought the last Metal Gear by Platinum Games for a tenner brand new thank you, Amazon Japan.

^That's just 360 games in Japan I guess - always overpriced. My PS4 version was 2380 yen from Edion.

Finished my first run through, it's decent stuff but there's absolutely no way of hiding that it's a demo. Visually it flits about a bit, the lighting and effects are lovely but there's some definitevcurrent gen aspects knocking about too. Nice to largely see stealth as the focus, area seems well designed to various approaches but on first impression there's less interaction than previous games. Recasting Hayter proves pointless as the hammy acting is in every other role still.

It's a tasty teaser for Phantom but proves the price tag is too high, even at ?20, unless you really rinse it.

Extra Ops unlocking is a time consuming one unless you use a Youtube video for assistance, took me 2 hours to finds 7 out of the 9 things

              ie patches

you need to find before I fired up Youtube for the remainder.

Really? man, 4800 for the 360 version and that's Amazon too! I could buy it as a Digital Download for 2800 yen but I want the disc. No worries. I'll just wait a little.

^^^4800 yen is an absolutely absurd price.

Played this over the weekend and enjoyed it. It was almost disgustingly tantalising - gutting to finish it and not have the rest of the game to play!

As others have said, there's no way of hiding that this is a demo. I had hoped it would be a neat and complete 90 minute experience, but it really is just one level pulled out of the rest of the game. You don't even get to fight a boss. You got to fight one in the MGS2 demo and that was free!

As for the actual updates to the mechanics though, I think this bodes very well and increases my excitement for the finished game hugely. I had had concerns that the slo-mo might dumb the game down, but I actually think it's a really nice addition. I also thought that the new 'interrogation' option when choking or holding up a guard is cool, I like the way you can build up your intel through doing this.

I was playing on PS3 and thought the graphics looked super.

sounds a lot like dead rising 2, case zero the difference being that that cost 400 Microsoft points, i enjoyed it more than the full game though as it gave you a really cool area to explore and that's what appeals to me about this....

...but i will wait a few weeks though as i can see this crashing in price it was no2 in the charts so i imagine there will be a lot of disgruntled gamers missing the point and trading this in after they smash through the game and complete it in under an hour.

you wont miss much with the PS3 or Xbox One version. played the Xbox One version briefly just to check what the infamous Fox Engine could do and left the game mildly disappointed. seems it's not much of a next gen engine - did see nothing that couldn't be done on PS3 or 360. some better textures and more light sources that's all there is.

I have it on xbox 0ne. I like how eveything is stupidly shiny. Oops. I mean I hate how everything is stupidly shiny. The dogs are laughable.

has this game been playtested at all? i just shot a guard in the back, he went down but got back up immediately as if nothing happend. then lined up a headshot but he just swallowed it. i gave him another round in the head and he went down again but was still alive. the next bullet in the head didn't kill him either but instead got him back up on his feet!?!

yes characters can look very plastic-like and unnatural, reminds me of old Xbox games using extensive normal mapping.

Well I just finished it, a nice 40 minutes.

I don't often get scandalized by games, but on this occasion I do feel like I've been ripped off.

You done the five extra mission too Boris? there is more playtime in them than the main mission.

Re what Uli said, some guards can really take some killing, even when they hit the deck I tended to shoot a couple more bullets in to them to stop them jumping up again.
