To be fair, even on 50cc there was the odd race where i didn't put a foot wrong and flew around, but was still punished and came 2nd.

It seems that now and again no matter how quick you are, the computer doesn't let you get too far ahead of the pack, but these races are few and far between....in 50cc.

For the most part if you drive well you get ahead enough to be unaffected.

Finally got around to playing it a little bit, its great fun but a little boring on my own and I can't do anything beyond 50cc. Can imagine it'll be heaps of fun playing 4 player split screen when my cousins come round. I'm too scared to go online :/

This place is dead. I've only seen Teddy and Kirov.

Had some problems last night with the connection. I'll be setting up a fixed IP and forwarding some ports to see if that helps after GOT tonight.

Almost done with 150cc. I reckon this is an easy 10, not much to fault it really apart from what seems to be that battle mode which I've never even tried since the SNES version.

I kept going on around 10-11pm and nobody was on. I guess it is a school night.

I want online around 10.30 last night and no friends were online according to the game.
How about if we all try and get online at 10pm tonight?

Am loving the game. Have unlocked all characters now. All tracks are great and it plays really well. No so sold on the sticks on the gamepad for this game though. Bit too lose and too much travel. First four covers on new Rainbow Road can be hard to make even when fully steering in the right direction. Now want to unlock the circuit kart that quite a few records have been set with ASAP. Not keen on the bikes as much probably as I never really played the Wii version. Quad bike is good fun though.

Ah man - had some awesome games last night with work co. one minute cheering the next swearing so hard I wake the youngen! Ha
I do not agree that this is a game of pure luck, not online at least. while playing online it's easy to spot who's obviously quite skilful against newcomers. Some players I find no matter what I do or how many shells get fired their way I just can't catch up! They obviously know the game and hats off.
Luck does play a part of course, the right item at the right time can help spice things up but to say its purely on luck is missing the point I feel.
But whatever luck or skill aside, I don't really care too much as its incredible fun - most fun I've had with a game for a while

Exactly. You can't take it too seriously or the fun will ebb away.

If you want serious racing join me for the GT Academy final round time trial via Gran Turismo 6.

Sunk at least 20 hours into this over the weekend in 2/3/4P, from Friday night through to Sunday afternoon when I finally took a break! We ran through all of 50/100/150 and Mirror getting Golds. I did manage to sneak in one 3 star by dominating everyone too

Stunning game, it fully lives up to my (very high) expectations. Think I've unlocked most of the swag now except the gold stuff, I'm rolling with Metal Mario in the Sports Coupe with Slicks.

Not really touched TT yet but it's a blinder in multiplayer. The graphics are superb and the handling feels fantastic. Each and every track seems excellent. Cloudtop Cruise really reminds me of Sky Garden - but with that amazing part where you fly through a storm!

Had a few games online too, works pretty much exactly the same way as it did on Wii and 3DS. The points are fun and like 7, not as punishing as on the Wii version. Gameplay is smooth.

My only disappointment so far is the way that stars are given out for the cups. It used to be the case that 3 stars was difficult to achieve, requiring not only 1st in every race (which would likely acquire you 2 or even 1 star(s) on its own), but that you'd need to absolutely blitz it round and spend the entire cup in 1st place basically. It required you to never put a foot wrong. Now you just need to come first in every race. Bit easy when playing in SP but oh well.

Overall I'm loving it think this will be another MKWii for me and see hundreds of hours racked up.

I think this is the best MK since the SNES original. Reason enough to own a WiiU IMO.

                          Agreed. I'm lapping it up

It's not a ten. AI is insulting easy, battle mode is rubbish and half the characters are a waste.
Love everything else though and worth buying the console for. The best since Super.

It's one of the best local multiplayer games ever though. Just superb.

For me, it's the fun as wobbly things online and the competitive TT. The TT in particular is so addictive.
