Very surprised about those low Skolas numbers. I think Bungie have changed the VoG loot drops to be like the Crota raid as I've noticed it being a lot more generous since I've started replaying it recently. Still lots of players without a Fatebringer though judging by the conversations with players online. Praetorian Foil and Glass Minuet definitely still the rarest VoG items.

Attempts to do skolas lv35 ended in a very late night, total disaster and 3 very grumpy guardians last night.
On every attempt skolas would kill someone off the bat straight in the door, no iffs no buts just an instant kill, this happened a good 10 times in a row. When he didn't kill someone we would go kill the servitor so we could do actual damage, then he would teleport straight in front of one of us and insta kill you, great, awesome, super fun.
This was with all of us on lvl 34 and all with 365 gallys, i also noticed a wildly different ammout of damage we were doing on each run, sometimes we could get half health off the bat, sometimes only a slither.

For Skolas you really need a titan. Run to the left when you get into the room, stand near the door on this side. Kill the servitor and stick up titan shield, and then blow him to bits with sniper rifles and gjallarhorn. If you are lucky the first bomb that you have to defuse will spawn next to you, but once he is dead it should be easy as all the mobs will be gone as well. Can take a few attempts, but this will work every time. Just need to to use the right element for what ever burn it happens to be that week. Burn him down before the fight even gets going is the best method by far.

I had a ****ty time with skolas this week too and ended up rage quitting, it really needs checkpoints. I would quite happily go back in, but cba to do the other 5 rounds again.
We were doing the techique that Garny mentions and all had maxed blackhammers/gjallarhorns but just had a lot of bad luck
Edit - one time we actually killed him but didn't get to the mine on time as it was the furthest one away possibleLast edited by wicky; 15-06-2015, 08:14.

You guys must have been unlucky with Skolas, we ghorned him to heaven on our 3rd or 4th attempt, got nothing of interest from him however. We had one player break off to clear the mines while the others finished skolas, ended up putting, a found verdict clip into his face to finish him.
ToO is a total no go if your team isn't all PvP aces, had two matches at the weekend both with lag switch cheaters in it. Managed to win but they where unfun matches. One guy was teleporting all over the match to dodge super attacks, ******* cheater.

Was one win away from a flawless in ToO (without using any buffs I should add) and got stone walled on the last game by lag switching c??k ends. Absolutely infuriating and how people are allowed to continue cheating is beyond me.
Edit. I've also just seen this interview. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2015-06-22-destiny-the-taken-king-director-defends-40-expansion-price-tag
Got to say from such a big company, I'm shocked at how they have handled the obvious price gauging of the taken king stuff. Selling the raid that should of been in HOW. $40 but straight conversion to ?40. Locked content unless you get the ?80 version.
They have systematically ignored the community in its criticisms of the price point to the point of deleting forum posts that are mentioning it.
Basically, they've done everything possible to piss off players, not only that, but they have just become beyond arrogant and greedy.Last edited by fishbowlhead; 23-06-2015, 06:42.

The Bungie forum is full of cheater threads for ToO like these ones:
Bungie.net is the Internet home for Bungie, the developer of Destiny, Halo, Myth, Oni, and Marathon, and the only place with official Bungie info straight from the developers.

It's a major major problem Bungie have been deleting threads about cheaters also, but there is so many on there now it's a joke.
Finally beat Skolas on Sunday managed to get the solar hand cannon from him as well but I see those drops have preset perks on them that can't be changed. Real pain last week tried about 4 times to beat him me and fishyb came close, but ended up doing it with another team.
Best tips for all players I can give are:
1. Keep moving around between the two platform areas.
2. Only attack Skolas on the high ground
3. Make sure all players have full super when Skolas health hits 50 & 25% for the mines
4. Only trigger the mines when Skolas is at the far end of the arena away from you
5. At 25% go for a quick kill on Skolas with 3 maxed ghorns
6. Skolas troops spawn at the start of each mine wave so there isn't much point in clearing them, instead kite them all into the middle
7. Always move as a team and always move when your health is low, if you stick around your dead.
