After a second night I'm apparently 25% into the main missions and have been mopping up encounters and side missions as I go so I'm mostly pushing into the East side of the map now. To be honest I feel more settled into it, it's definitely got enough pull to stick with it. Had some really nice looking areas. Biggest issue still seems to be how vanilla the overall game is though, it's a deeply unremarkable game just a very competent one. Destiny probably is a good comparison in terms of set up and execution given I enjoyed going through that game too but likewise couldn't care less about the dlc or whether they make a sequel to it. Decent romp for the right price though.

Good thing is you you have many character slots, so maybe I will make a new character, after I finish the normal map and story.
First rule of the dark zone is, be pansy and join a party. Second rule, be a pansy and kill lower level/gear agents. Third rule is, just kill everything.
(Actually there are higher level/challenging enemies in the Dark Zone, similar to the named NPC in the normal map and events take only place in there)

So just finished all the story mission. Completion time ~47h.
Final mission spoiler
The final boss is a chopper copter, and the whole battle was pants for me! Basically you have to run to those terminals and switch on the turrents. Problem is, maybe it is just a ps4 issue, sometimes if you stand in front of the terminals the hit square button doesn't trigger, meaning you cannot operate it.
There are a few ok boss fights in the game, but the final boss was a let down.
Overall score for me is a 7/10. It is a solid game, if you have time to spare.
Some things that you should know, if you haven't start it yet.
This is a rpg with shooting mechanics. The means, if your stats are too low, head shots won't one-hit kill enemies.
This isn't monster hunter or souls, rolling doesn't have invincibility frames.
The game cannot be played offline and sometimes even if playing solo, you can experience weird things like warping enemies, items taken longer to pick up, not being able to fast travel, aso.

Honestly, blitz through the story mode and beat the final boss to unlock phoenix credit and store, that way you can craft and buy good gold/yellow items. Plus you can replay most of teh mission in challegen mode, which is insanely difficulty to solo, with current gear and caps. Even with a full party some challenge missions are really hard.
I wouild say it uses as much data as any other MMO. But i think network latency of 4g networks in the UK might be a bigger issue, because of the realtime combat mechanics.

Loving this game , the setting is fab and online its awesome fun . To me this is how current games should tackle the single and multi player modes , because neither the single player mode or on-line modes feel compromised , they both feel complete and complement each other .
Have to say the GFX are even better than the Beta and the music is the best I've heard in years .
