Is there going to be enough interest to warrant a high score thread? Looking back it seems there are only buzz scoreboards and no high scores and I would much prefer to have a high score thread. But it is only going to work if we can get enough people playing.

I have tried and tried with arcade sticks but couldnt do it - I even bought one especially for DC Psy2.

    Fantastic post btw Marz .

Just ordered this on the PS2 so i'll get some scores posted in the next few weeks if i've got time.

Hows everyone found/finding the mission mode on the PS2 version, is it easy to work out what needs to be done, for each one?

Just got this a few days ago and on PS2 ( only over a year or so after you guys on the dreamcast) and am loving it so far, i'm even not using the roll button which makes it feels so much more rewarding especially when playing with a stick.

The mission mode is a nice addition to the game from the few missions i've played so far they seem as a way to brush up for the proper game.

Shame there's no replay option in this as has been mentioned earlier in the thread.

Can see myself playing this for many many hours.

I got DC version (again) yesterday, absolutely loving it, ranks right up there with the best shmups ever.

Yeah there stupidly good, one day i'll be in the same league (maybe not).

Get such a good rush from playing this game it's the risk vs reward factor that people have mentioned earlier in the thread. I'm finding this one much easier to play with a stick then the first version for some reason and i'm enjoying the game more for it.

Just seen the area 5 video and the bullets that the last boss shots out unbelievable skill to buzz them and not got killed.

Whenever I see vids of mega skill in games like this I want to practise and practise untill I reach that skill level. Although my ability in the end dampens my emphusiasm.

See that wouldn't work because its Old Skool.... Where as the buzz system only works for modern manic shooters innit.

What's the verdict on the PS2 version of the game? Is it worth picking up? I expect it's not as good as the DC version due to it being a Naomi game, but I'm DC-less at the moment

I have both versions of the game and they look pretty much identical....the PS2 Version has lots of cool features that the DC one doesn't have...you get a stage select mode to practise section of the game...there is a mission mode which lets you play section of the game with varying goals in mind. The bosses now have health bars....and you get an DVD showing guys blitzing the game badass style

The Ps2 version does have longer loading time which is a bit of a pain.

The dvd is good though he does lose a life against the spider boss which did annoy me

The ps2 version does not work with my magic 3.1 chip i have to use swap magic to play it

Thread from the past, can't believe this has been out on DC for just over two years now, after dusting off the DC for Radilgy couldn't resist firing this up again, and it still holds it's own (and more) with the likes of PSP Star Soldier, Mushi, Radilgy and Ibara imo.

So hard to put it down, never tried the PS2 & Xbox versions but the "basic arcade" DC conversion is just fantastic.

Back for another go, Saur's videos are just sick, but in a good way
