Dude! Pro Ev is a joke compared to the balance in all WE games, you are missing out ten fold. Pro Ev 3 is hideous compared to WE7i.

Yeah that's what I'd heard too, I've played WE6:FE on GC, and found that much more playable than PES2.

So is it better to:

1) Buy WI7i on the cheap?
2) Buy WI8 asap?
3) Wait and buy WI8i when it comes out as there were a few issues in the review that may be fixed in a release only 6 months away.

Been playing this loads since its release. Apart from the slowdown this is the best and most realistic iteration to date IMO.
One question though, why is it that some players' names differ depending on whether they are used in a club team or national team?

Eg. Van Nistelroy(Man U.) = Van Nisterom (Holland)

I'm feeling this more now after the initial feeling that it was technically broken whenever the penalty-area's would get packed, but it's been relatively good lately I must admit.

I managed to patch the game last-night using Fernando's 0.4 release, then copied it to my PS2 HDD, so will give that a try this evening, since apparently the Master League is about 70% translated.

I'm finding my (L1 + O x3) low, fast cross works well as a through-ball at the moment. I've had quite a bit of success with this one so far, especially for splitting defences open or catching them off guard, there's more pace on the ball than say, when you execute a regular through-ball.

EDIT - Just got a bill through from TNT for WE8. ?40 it's cost me in import duties.

So whats all this pressing the shoulder buttons at crosses and freekicks about? I know l1+O does the auto cross. I must confess that even though ive been playing the series for years ive never bothered to read a manual .

Hit L1 and triple tap the O button fella and you'll pull off a fast, low cross, which is quite handy for a striker to stick his foot out on.

Similarly, if you double tap the O button, you'll do a mid-height fast cross.

How does holding L1 effect the cross? I just run and hit Ox3 and its a low hard cross.

Anywhere have a full list of moves, controls? I'm probably missing out and quite a few and am shambolic at freekicks. Even holding R1 I'm just blasting them over or into the wall.


The latest patch (v0.4) and v1.5 Memory Card are great. Apparently combining them messes some things up (league names or something) but even after reading through the threads I can't see whats meant to be wrong...


The next updates are likely to be after the transfer window now, hopefully the big 'teams' of patchers are moving along nicely and will have files out not long after.

Also over on evo-web have they sussed out how to import kits yet? I know it usualy takes a while to find the correct template or something. I used to be a member over on evo-web but it has been barred from my works computer. ft: Could be something to do with the ammount of time I spent on there

Just got round to installing the newer 1.5 option file.
its lovely.
Sponsors on unlicensed teams have been improved, kit makers have been added. The premier league name is in english. Team badges have also been improved and the grey background has gone though theyre still a tad too big. its really very very impressive.

you need to register if you havent done so already. Thats the official evo-web option file (1.5) . think theres another floating around but its not as good apparently.
