I'm now scoring 3-0, 4-1, 3-2 etc on 6-stars. Gotta love L1 + double tap circle for the speedy, chest height crosses!!

I use the double tap cross the most these days. Its way better than the single tap O in this version. Does pressing L1 at the same time make much difference? I still get crosses around chest height without pressing L1.
I find England to be really good if you want to win the international cup on six stars. Put Gerrard in centre midfield and Dyer on the wide left plus theres alot of strength in depth. bringing joe cole on in the last few minutes for a bit of showboating is always fun.

Any advise on straight taking players on one-on-one? I try the stepover technique but it invariably loses me the ball, particularly when playing against the computer in league mode.

I just try and fool them by running one way then the other, no fancy footwork here I'm afraid mate. I've only bothered learning a couple of the L/R button tricks.

Are you talking MASTER league mode? Most of my players are utter cacka and can't even roulette in training properly. Even I'm better than these guys.

Anyone still playing this?
I tend to play once every few days just to keep me fresh. Though recently ive really got back into it and decided to start a new 6* master league.
Probably the hardest and most enjoyable part comes in the first six games. During this time youve got no real players, only the awful made up ones you start off with (unless your wimping out and starting it with real players, if you are, for shame ) so its a real test of tactical skill and patience. I mainly draw these games and sneak the odd win in. If you can get at least one or two wins then your guaranteed a few better players on the list of those who are interested in you. If you dont win your stuck with those free agents who on the whole are pretty poor and cost more since you cant part ex. during the transfer window its a real test on how well youl think you will do. Do you sign just the one player and guarantee your survival at the end of the year? Or do you gamble and splash the cash hoping youl recoup it by the off season? This time i chose the latter and managed to get Dublin, Ricketts and nakamura in the transfer window. Thank god i did because ricketts especially played well and almost single handedly got me up. he also got mvp so that was some extra points. I managed to get promotion and first place in my first season, i also won the D2 cup which i havent done on any we/pes game in years.
The off season transfer window was a real challenge for me. The only decent player who you start off with is Vornander (formerly vorlander) who at 39 retires at the end of the season. So your faced with the task of having to bring in at least 8 new players since the ones you start off with are barely good enough for d2. with a bit of wheeling and dealing i managed to bring in 8 players and assembled a decent squad.

So in reality its just a decent team but one so far thats got me to the top of D1. though im going to have to go on to a major rebuild if im to survive in europe next season.


Has anyone ever been man marked by the ai in the game? Ive not come across it.
