I've done it twice today without any problem at all in the same store, but then the guy who served me didn't look as though he knew much about the rules. He didn't even bother to check the discs, even though I'd just raided the local gamestation for any old tat to trade.

I must say I'm tempted to do it again before the week is out at either Bolton, Manchester or Rochdale.

2 in Bolton within 90 seconds of each other - and it doesn't say one per person but one per customer - so in either store you are a new customer, and doing it on a different day makes you a new customer (in my eyes)

anyways my family is large enough that i can send others to town to do it for me

good place to get cheap games from is Dixons (if Gamestation are running low)

Nah, it's not like were scamming them, it's there idea so why not make the most of it. I don't think were going to bust GAME doing it.

Anyway all the games they get back in are sold in 2 for ?25 packs, so thats ?50 for the ones we trade in, plus ?12 we paid for them in the first place makes ?62 quid they get back for the ?39.99 games we get.

            No.
You would be stunned at the amount of kids bringing in full price games that would normally trade for ?17 individually. Whilst everybody on here has obviously rinsed the deal with cheap games, I can assure you there are many, many kids who haven't. There is then the real dicks who trade in for a ?20 game. WTF is their problem?

The thing to remember is that the games are traded in for ?10 max and around 80% can be sold for at least ?15/ 2 for ?25. There are dubious **** like Fifa, old Pro Evo's and Fantavision that are unshiftable, but it's no where near as bad as the Hoover offer.

I do agree the dicks at H.O have made a huge mistake (nothing new TBH) by not putting in restraints on games, but not everybody has capitalised on the offer as us lot have.

Thats true bowser. I just naturally thought that anybody and everybody would take GAME to the cleaners but the kids taking in 4 full priced games make GAME the ones who are laughing all the way. ?17 X 4 = ?68 so that is some good going for someone trading in and getting a ?39.99 game but getting a ?20 game in exchange OMFG they are dumb.

BUT bowser do the dicks outweigh the rinsers? I wouldnt know as i dont work in any GAME but i am sure the proportion of clued up people who take in cheap games over the amount of people who are idiots and are getting screwed themselves is large.

I think the people who are doing the best out of this promotion is Gamestation. Pretty much anybody on this forum wanting a bargain has bought in Gamestation since the promotion has started. I say hats off to them and long may it last for them and us.

Well most people don't bring in either tons of ****e or tons of new stuff, mostly it's people who are genuinely trading in stuff from their own collection. Most people don't own too many of these unshiftable games (hence whey they are unshiftable) and it's only once really popular games that are made obsolete by newer releases that will cause problems for Game (Fifa etc).

I can only speak for the shop I work in and the one directly above us, and I imagine it helps that there isn't a Gamestation relatively close, but we certainly haven't been swamped by the likes of what NTSC'ers are trading in.

Like I said, they've been stupid by even offering a chance of getting burnt by crafty types. But the general Game customer isn't that clued up on buying stuff for the sake of swapping it, it's mostly mums with their bored kids trading in their own back catalogue. The other thing is that the amount of cheap special offers being sold in store (Die Hard DVD for ?2.99, LOTR for ?15, Eye Toe camera for ?10 etc) have all rocketed by the extra foot flow in store and I reckon Game will have got super cheap bulk prices on these offers.

Yeah well GAME online were selling the Eye Toy for ?4.99 in the deal of the day which sold out within 2 minutes but i am sure GAME are still making a profit on that

So, does anyone know where to pick up some cheap games in the Edinburgh area so I can get my hands on a few Xbox titles tomorrow???

Perhaps GAME are looking to order the second-hand games market. By purchasing all games they can get some kind of monopoly going which will help them in the long run. Perhaps they will release second-hand specific stores which under-cut the competition like gamestation and still make sweet profits... Who knows?

They may have some kind of master plan, and you're all just getting them closer and closer!

                        Or maybe they're muppets

Hmmm... to get four games to trade in I'd have to give up VF4. It's not like I ever really play it now I have Evo, but it's a tough decision to make! Also not sure what i'd want to get. Maybe Boktai.

Just done this to get Call of Duty at Reading GAME, aparrently every second game they sell is through this offer and they were happy to take the knackered PS2 titles with the GAmestation labels still on from me...

Will try Maidenhead tomorrow if I can think of a game I want.

Just did this in Brighton - first time I was in town since finding out. Wish I'd known earlier tbh, I only have a GC out of the 3 allowed and there was very little choice left - all the games seem to be 19.99 now anyway and that wasn't worth it.

Also, Gamestation had sold ALL of their ****ty cheap games, cheapest they had was 5.99.

Got F-Zero in the end as everything else I wanted was either cheap already or not to be had (I did check both stores by the way).

The guys in Gamestation loved it and were talking of smashing their monthly target and the guy in GAME said did you just buy these (the 2 with stickers on still)? When I said yes he said "might as well eh"! He also said that not as many people were bringing in 'decent' games as they had hoped.

Don't think I'll be doing it again tbh.
