Pokemon Colosseum - Just a quick gripe

Is there any way of getting Deoxys (I assume he is the 202nd pokemon in Ruby/Sapphire) other than at one of those Nintendo conventions?

I know this is going against Pokemon gospel but I have always believed in it. Don't waste your time with a completist mentality.

Deoxys has 3 forms. And, from what I can make out, all three are only obtained when you buy both Fire Red, Leaf Green, and a copy of either Ruby or Sapphire and trade the thing between all three.

They appear to have different stats. Your basic Deoxy from Ruby/Sapphire is well balanced. When traded to Fire Red it appears to have better attack stats, and when traded to Leaf Green it has better defense stats as well as Mirror Coat and counter.

The normal deoxys is only obtainable through an Auron ticket received I think at the latest movie (no. 7). Given that we're WAAAAAAAY behind on the movie (we've had the ****ty #4 released) and missing some of the feature length ones, then I don't know when or how you'll get it.

For Feebas its probably just me - I've spent well over 2hrs of mind numbingly boring fishing on him and still no luck.

The only thing I'm doing differently to you is probably the fact that I have Lanturns special ability Illuminate that makes encountering rarer Pokemon easier, which may explain why I got it so easily compared to you guys. That, or I got very lucky. And to think I was getting pissed off at having to wait 20 minutes or so to spot one

Nips- did you ever get your cartridge back from Nintendo? What did they give you?

I have been led to believe that Feebas could only be obtained in 6 squares so your lanturn isn't going to help.

Also the rod doesn't matter - in fact the old rod is meant to be slightly better as you don't have to fight tougher monsters while searching.

If I'm wrong on this then I'll be pissed especially as I've done quite a bit of research on it.

That Deoxys thing is a bit annoying.

I'm of the Catch 'em all camp only because I don't have anyone to battle (I can't get EvilMatt to play damn him).

Nothing wrong with collecting them all. Battling appears deeper, but if you enjoy collecting and stuff then go for it

I got my game back from Nintendo this morning, if you don't have colossuem or any other way to get the patch, then I suggest you do it, becuase they sent the game back in the Jiffy by Special Delivery.

Seeing as this has almost developed into a general Pokemon thread, I have been watching eBay and am somewhat surprised at how much the old GBC game of Pokemon Crystal is going for at the moment. There was a boxed and complete one that went for ?26+P&P and a cartridge plus game manual for ?19+P&P. A week or so ago they were going for a lot less!! One that I missed (annoying or what) was Crystal and a Prima guide on the game which went for ?13+P&P. I had connection problems at the time.

Hey Bassman where in Aylesbury do you live?

Can you send off patched carts just to get the free gift? I want a yellow Sableye (my favourite Pokemon).

I've got a Japanese copy of Crystal although the box is a bit worse for wear that I got for about ?3. As its Japanese its possibly more common though.

Gameplay in Worthing have well boxed and possibly sealed Pokemon Reds for ?25 - when I asked about the steep price they said it was rare! That made me laugh (although it might actually be rare sealed - I doubt it though).

I actually live 9 miles out! I recently got a sealed "Silver" for maybe ?13... can't remember. I am currently playing Gold (approaching the Elite 4) and Yellow which WHSmiths in Aylesbury had for ?4.99 "brand new" the other week. Bizarrely it is an American edition.

I live in the new block of flats on Oxford Road at the top of Kingsbury Square. 1 minute away from WHSmiths. Will have to meet up sometime.

I put the occasional bid on ebay for Red/Blue/Silver/Gold but I doubt I would play them as there is no connectivity with the new games.

There was more than one copy of the game there. If there had been one left the next week I would have probably bought another one.

I managed a boxed complete red and blue on Ebay for under a tenner each. I recently bought the N64 Stadium 2 which was rather expensive and at the weekend got the original N64 Stadium (so I now have two transfer packs) for next to nothing (relatively speaking). Had to dust of the N64 and managed to connect to the TV with a Gamecube A/V lead.

My copy is already patched. I'd already played with Colosseum.

I'm gonna send it off again, and see if I get a different pokemon... Zigzagoon is just TOOO ****.

I should have got atleast one shiny from catching. I've never even seen one in the wild.

I've got Ruby and Sapphire to send off so it will be interesting to see if I get something different on one or the other. Now all I need do is send them off (recorded delivery at the very least). I put a lot of work into those titles.

Been watching some Pokemon videos on my GBA (surprisingly good quality ) and they got me thinking, why can Meowth talk English in the cartoon?. Every other Pokemon can only say it's own name, although I'm sure the psychic Pokemon can do telepathy, so what's special about Meowth?

yeah, some chick meowth called Meowsy (original!) caught his eye when he ran away from a camp. He broke into the attic of an elocution class and spent all his experience on walking and talking.The first word he learned was Rocket..

I liked reading about Jessie and james when they first met, studying at a really rich polytechnic training centre, and were so convinced of their own brilliance, they scored the worst in their exams in the history of the school. It's sad, but I wanna know what happened between Cassidy and Jessie... I'm such a loser.

The cartoons were deeply crap, but I really thought Jessie and james were the work of comic genius...
