Pokemon Colosseum - Just a quick gripe

I just phoned them up and asked what the gift is, the woman said that she didn't know, but it's defo a pokemon...

Apparently, all you've got to do is put the cart in the post to them with a note and your address, they'll do it and send it back.

They don't get the software to actually do the updates until Friday, so if you send your carts in for Friday, then you should expect them back shortly afterwards... I'm gonna get mine off tomorrow so I'm at the top of the pile... even though I've got Colosseum so have had the upgrade, I just want the pokemon!

...Also, am I the only person who thinks that it is cool as **** having the name of the building as "Codestorm House"!

Is there any way of getting Deoxys (I assume he is the 202nd pokemon in Ruby/Sapphire) other than at one of those Nintendo conventions?

I've currently caught 189 pokemon (don't actually have about 70 of them though as I just traded and then traded back) and seen 198 on Sapphire.

Pokemon proving difficult to obtain are Latias (or Latios - I can't remember) as I don't have access to Ruby or know anyone with it who has got far enough and Feebas/Milotic.

Still got a few pokemon to evolve which will get me to 197/199 and hopefully I will get Jirachi soon (seen Pokemon Channel cheap)

Do you know where to get Feebas BTW?
I found it took about 10-15 minutes of fishing around where the weather institute is (Route 119) to catch one. I remember finding it really annoying how it wouldn't appear.

As for Latios I'm having trouble even spotting one
I thought that once you'd done the elite four they appeared randomly on the map, like the Legendary Dogs. I can't even get the 1st appearance to mark it in the Pokedex so I can tell from the map where it is. What do I need to do to trigger this 1st appearance?.

I found it really hard getting a feebas. It took me ages, you're lucky that you found a square do quickly.

I know a good way to get Latios if you're interested:

Everytime you fly you reset where Latios, so go to a town with only 1 exit to it and grass nearby, I think you may be able to use Oldale, but I chose Lilycove City. Fly to lilycove, walk to the grass from the poke center and battle for 5-8 times, if you don't encounter Latios then FLY BACK to Lilycove city and that'll change where LAtios is. Then walk to the grass and battle again, if you don't find him in 5-8 battles then FLY BACK to the city and he'll change the grass he's at... I did this for about 30 minutes and I got him. It's a sounds method as long as you remember that you have to fly to reset where he is...

I don't know whether you can encounter Latios more than once, and I think he runs away so make sure that you have a sleeper, or a master ball with you

I've sent off my cart, it'll arrive at Nintendo within the next 40 minutes... Then they'll do thier thing and I'll get my prize... They'd better not lose it on the way back or I'll kick some ass!

I have spent upwards of 2hrs trying to find Feebas. I'm not sure whether I can be bothered anymore.

You can meet Latias/Latios more than once. In fact it is easier after the first time as he shows up on the map. They are a pain to find first time but there are tactics as Nips has said to find them more often than not.

And sure I'll tell you what the prize is... My guess is Deoxys... If I get a Deoxys I'll trade that across to your cart and back again so you'll have that in your pokedex as well

Sounds great. Could you also copy Jirachi across and back if you have it. I'm not sure now when I will get it as my source for Channel was a bit more than I wanted to pay just to get Jirachi.

God, that is ****. That's meant to be the pre-evolved version of Snorlax, Gonbe? Ho ho ho.

I quite like him actually.
It has all the right things for a Snorlax (the paw prints, claws, yellow patch on stomach) and looks better than the majority of the R/S stuff.
Anyhow Crispin, just think of the mega Snorlax you'd have when you egg train Gonbe.

As for the game I'm not sure what I want from it.
Again I've enjoyed R/S, but most of that has come from the breeding of egg moves and general training, I'm not sure if I want another RPG like we've had for the past 3 GB games. Not sure how exactly it would or could evolve but I feel the series needs to.

I just hope that they stop making it impossibly difficult to catch 'em all. I want it to be hard but pokemon like Jirachi/Deoxys and Feebas/Latios/Latias to a lesser extent are just annoying.

Feebas, and Latios/Latias aren't too hard... I thought that the Legendary Dogs were far worse... And Nintendo always put atleast 1 ultimate rare pokemon like Mewtwo in thier games that you can only get from special events.

Tbfh, I want that gonbe more than a deoxys... I'm really interested in a normal pokemon now

I didn't have a problem with Latios/Latias its just that without a guide I doubt anyone could get them - actually the Regi's are quite similar in this respect.

For Feebas its probably just me - I've spent well over 2hrs of mind numbingly boring fishing on him and still no luck.

Although I never played Silver/Gold so I don't know how bad the legendary dogs were, it seems to me that they are no longer a problem - they have been the easiest shadow pokemon to catch in Colluseum. All the other pokemon are so weak I keep killing them (or more often they kill themselves) instead of catching them.

The pokemon that need to be unlocked just piss me off though. I'm not sure that I really need them but its annoying not being able to complete it (i'm a perfectionist sorry).
