Nice, I tend to avoid the legendaries, since they learn and forget moves before you encounter them. Of course this is fixable in Stadium 2 IIRC. Also their stats can suffer if you catch them at a high level.

In R/S Fake out on the other pokemon makes them flinch, guaranteed. Only works on first turn. I suppose if you really want to stop them in the first term, if they always use a certain move. Seems pointless though.

Outrage is merely there to counter the fact that Dragon pokemon up until G/S had only very weak Dragon type moves. Outrage is a lot more potent, but leaves the user confused after three turns. Originally Dragon pokemon in R/B/Y were bitches to defeat, so they had a weak Dragon moveset in compensation (also to stop Dragon vs Dragon battles becoming wars of attrition, player had to think).

Bulk up: raises both attack and defense. I don't tend to play the stats boosting game much, cause you're vulnerable whilst you use the moves. Also, why send a weak pokemon into battle in the first place.

Foresight: Your Pokemon's Accuracy returns to normal. Prevents Accuracy reduction moves from working on you. Makes Normal and Fighting moves work on Ghost-types. It's a good move to learn, especially against cheap normal or electric players who love to use sand-attack or flash, coupled with their high speed normals.

I suppose Fake Out is good in a Double battle when a pokemon with moves strong against one of yours is fielded. You could fake it out while you switch.... Hmmm interesting but I prefer not to waste turns like that. I'd rather let it faint and switch that way...
Foresight cancels out sand-attack and flash etc? I hate ****ers who hit you with about eight of them then start hobbling you. It's not strategy, it's the POkemon equivalent of button bashing.

The **** just kept resting. Bastard....
Yeah, the steels have come along in leaps and bounds. Snorlax would have a tough time. Just use a pokemon that can either reliably send it to sleep (though snore comes into play then) using spore, paralyse it (but again can occasionally use rest) or use a move that prevents it from using a move. But snorlax is a pain to beat.

On the other hand, it's a ****ing nightmare to level up to lvl 100, so not everyone will use it.

Wrap and firespin used to be used all the time in R/B/Y AND Stadium. Especially Stadium. It's a very annoying move. You can't do much whilst in it's grip. It was far too effective and far too cheap.

And I WOULD avoid the legendaries if I could, but you stand no chance of getting anywhere in Colosseum if you don't use them. It's impossible to field ones you like against the head of the 100 Mount battle guy or the Mayor. I tried to take Espeon and Umbreon into that battle and they got creamed... There's no option for variation like there is in the handhelds... PS I kinda like Blaziken. I hate fighting pokemon normally (all the Hitmon's can suck my dick!) and it's has handy to have one with fire too.

But it's not as if wrap would make you faint on completion? It'd do maybe a quarter to a third damage, then the ****er would do it again! I remember the 1st time I battled Ekans it did that. ****ing thing. I was pleased they made it into an attack that drained you but didn't immobilise you.

The move that pisses me off the most, without a doubt and by far and away, is Confuse Ray. The annoying thing is that almost all of them seem to have it! And how ****ing annoying is it when you cast something like paralysis or confusion and the cpu doesn't feel the effects... But when they do it to you, oh no. You're hit yourself every ****ing time..... grrr.

Yeah, they're always tweaking older moves. Sometimes it makes sense with wrap since it immobilised you and you took damage (and the other pokemon could use other moves IIRC). So obviously that had to be fixed.

On the other hand, they totally downgraded Razor leaf, in the hope that by adding Sunny Day and Solarbeam combo it would even out. Unfortunately this just made Venusaur change from a kick ass pokemon to something you really wouldn't want to touch with a bargepole....

Lol, the cheating AI from Stadium 1 & 2 returns then?

With a ****ing vengeance. It infuriates me to the point where I'm screaming at something like Misdreavus, and somehow by the sheer force of my will and I can make it materialise in my house so I can choke it to death...

Accuracy doesn't seem to affect moves.. Horn Drill is 100% effective as far as cpu is concerned, but it's 30 ****ing percent when I use it.....

Yay! Pok?mon! It's a true sign of manhood in my circle to have a full lvl 100 team.

[quote]I wanna know if my lv100 Metagross (HP 400 and something) can withstand your Snorlax attack. Metagross is my favourite for the following reasons..

                    I like metagross too ^^
by far the best steel-type in r/s.

Iron Defense (use immediately as it greatly raises defense)
I didn't bother, I mean metagross has already got an Uber defence, and all but two physical attacks (ground and fighting) are 0.5 effective at which point I'd switch out.

                    Psychic (why not)
Because Metagross's sp. attack sucks and you don't even get STAB. Agility would be a better choice IMO.

Meteor Mash (****ing kick-ass steel attack with high accuracy)
                    Uh huh

Hyper beam (For when only the best is good enough)
Earthquake is another move I'd consider if I was you, to take out any pesky fire pokemon.

Back on topic: I've been very dissapointed with collosium too. Granted I've just been using it for battling so far, but I just feel that it lacks the 'epic' touch that the title suggests. Using the gameboy pok?mon voices is a travesty and most of the r/b/g/s models seem to be directly copied from stadium... playing that the other day and I much prefer it.

WRT double battles, I like them. It totally changes the tactics of the game and with four human players it's quite an experience.

                    K.

Yeah, what's the ****ing deal with that? Vine Whip and Razorleaf both suck now. Wow, Razorleaf can hit TWO at once. Big ****ing deal. Sunny Day looks EXACTLY like Hyper Beam in Colosseum - cheap bastards.

And you're right, Sunny Day, Synthesis and Giga Drain don't make up for the loss. I never use grass anyway. Have you seen that ****ing Hoppip, Skiploom. Jumpluff move list? It learns 2 attack moves! 2! And they're mega and giga drain.... There's nothing that grass can't take out that something else can.... (possible exception of Quagsire or Swampert, but flying types will do just as well...)

Actually, it hasn't got Uber defence. A decent enough fire blast or Earthquake will take it out. I won't stand that. Nothing so humiliating as a 1 hit KO on one of your own....

Well fire blast is a special attack so iron defence is useless for protecting against it. And if you encounter a fire pokemon, that's where agility/earthquake come in handy. As for earthquake... I just switch out .

AND FOR THE LOVE OF GOD! What total cream from the devil's filthy ring piece invented WONDER GUARD?????!!!! It took me about fifteen minutes of random attackin to take out Shedinja. You can only hit the ****ing thing with a weather boosted attack? What piece of old **** thought that would be a good idea? And what about if you didn't have one? What would you do then? ****ing thing...

Toxic / will -o- wisp / leech seed knackers it. Only x2 attacks hit it but status effects still work.

                                Rah! I'm 21, I don't care. I have no shame.
