You've got a loose Movie Game tie in requirement here. Because y'know, I haven't played it yet but its gotta be....no I'm kidding. My favourite game movie thing has to be GoldenEye (N64) simply because it 100% captures the essence of the film, adds and expands on it too, although the extra filler levels did feel a tad out of place the film to game levels were first of their kind type fantasmagorical recreations. Although having said that I think the level which I most liked was the escaping from the Russians, finding the key, getting a couple of klobbs and letting rip on 100s of goons.

      Goldeneye
      Aliens vs Predator
Rocky wasn't too bad either (although not in the same league as the 2 above)

The library. Fantastic level and my favourite multiplayer level too (although only three player sadly).

TIE Fighter, good call! They were great games, except the last one. As much as I like Factor 5 (move back to Germany and make Turrican 4 please), they still pi** all over their series.

          Lucasarts eh, what a shame...

The last in the X-wing\T-Fighter was Alliance or something? That was excellent in parts, and awful in others. Half the missions were borring 'family' trading and scouting rubbish, and the other half were excellent proper Star Wars missions. I hated the family missions, they were all awful. Bleh! Tie Fighter was incredible though, the satisfaction of completely dominating those Y-Wings hasn't been bettered in a space combat game. (A-Wings were a pain though...).

I have to say that I have never really been a fan of GoldenEye, but I've only played it multiplayer against very good people, and a few levels in single player. My first experience of the game did come after playing Half-Life, which probably didn't help matters

Riddick is a good game, but in my opinion people are over rating it massively. Perhaps the best recreation of a film character, though.

Best licenced game, for me, is KoTOR. Virtually perfect in every way. :wub

Absolutely, unquestionably, TIE Fighter. Utterly superb in every way, hugely involving, tons and tons of stuff to do, all of it interesting (unlike Alliance), just generally amazing.

What the hell? GoldenEye single player is like totally the most groovemongous game at the time. Personally I wouldn't put KOTOR as a movie tie-in, more an EU cashin-a-thon tie-in.

But then I am classing a Movie tie in in so much as you'd have to actually have maybe something to do with the film in there, like a character, or set, or even follow the plot?

Aye, KOTOR is as far away from a film tie in as you can probably get. It does have a wonderful 'Star Wars' feel though.

Riddick is great. Not the most original game ever (although it does possess some innovative moments) but the pacing is the best of any FPS I've ever played. I even loved the mines.

Pacing is so undervalued as a concept, it can make or break a game imo.

Ah, Mr A-Wing. I see you have yet to meet my friend, Mr TIE Defender. [Cue pwnage]

A-Wings were fast, but had all the durability of the Z-95 Headhunters. In the collectors edition, you get all the expansion packs, where it's you vs around 5 TIE Defenders. In the slightly rubbish Missle Boat.

Alliance was alright, but the difficulty could spike in places. The family missions were a bit too easy, as with the turret you could reduce laser recharge to nothing, and use the 'free' linked to forward fire option. I'm amazed at how tacked on the Millenium Falcon section that closed the game was though, you just suddenly started flying the thing with no explanation. Then you had the rubbish Death Star sequence, which was very cheap (much like the trench section in the original X-Wing).

KOTOR does give off a lovely Star Wars atmosphere, but TIE Fighter let you whizz past people with the 'nneerr' sound effect the imperial ships make, it gave you lasers, it gave you a quite wonderful soundtrack, and it gives you one mission where you have to go through a minefield in a TIE Interceptor (which is unshielded). Backstabbing imperials are the best thing ever

If this counts then I would have gone for the original Baldur's Game or even Icewind Dale 2.

Otherwise KOTOR all the way. I'm hoping KOTOR2 and Spiderman 2 will be even better.

I hope that riddick will be one of them (I've ordered it)

For sure the mighty Goldeneye (N64)

Yes Gizmo, you've just mentioned the only 2 other great games I know and played that were based on a movie.

Oh yes, superman on the N64.......... ehhh......

Definately Goldeneye! Not just one of the best movie licenses ever but also one of the best games ever. I also thought Aliens vs Predator 2 was very fun. As was the arcade aliens vs predator by capcom. In fact most Aliens games are quite fun. Rogue Squadron on the N64 was great fun as well.
