I still have an eye on BC. It appeals to me even more than Fable because its quite an original setting and idea. From what I have seen its looks to have a really tight design, good technology and great graphics.

There's a new interview up. Here's a little taster:
GS: I can imagine. When you first announced Fable you said you wanted to make "the greatest role-playing game of all time."
PM: That was the ambition, yes.
GS: Do you feel like you've succeeded?
PM: That sort of press line is the most dangerous statement that you can possibly make. I didn't really think that people would take me seriously when I said that. Being a little British company, we had never done a role-playing game before, never done a console game before. Who the hell are we to say such an ambitious thing? That was the ambition, and I'm all about when you actually start making a game there is no point in turning and saying, "I'm going to make quite a good role-playing game." I mean what's the point? You might as well just have a license. You've got to go out there and you've got to say: "This will be the greatest game that we can possibly make; this will be the greatest role-playing game."
Is it the greatest role-playing game ever? Could I have made more changes, could there be more polish, could there be a few things in there which shouldn't be in there? There are things I could certainly think about, but I think I'm incredibly proud of the achievement. Firstly, I think what we've done is we've made a game that people absolutely enjoy playing, and they're playing over and over again. Secondly, what we ended up making was an action role-playing game. Now, action role-playing games are different from role-playing games and I think we should have said that, and we sort of merged an action game and a role-playing game in a pretty unique way. There is so much love and passion in that game, and so much hard work, I can't help but be anything but enormously proud of what we've done.
I've got to say that i agree entirely with almost everything he says. I personally believe people can be far too quick to judge and far too ignorant to appreciate all the hard work that goes into creating these games. Too many people live in a world that revolves around their restricted awareness, and their perceptions are blinded by their ignorance.
Such comments like ?OMG! Fable only got 9.3 but Ninja Gaiden got 9.4?!!!? are quite sad really. People claiming they?ll not going to buy it due to not being a perfect title or potentially being short worries me personally. Indeed, every game isn?t for everyone, but to dismiss a project simply through a gathering of misconceptions is unfair and wrong.
Sorry ? I don?t mean to moan. And im not just referring to Fable? So many games (even films) fail to receive the positive attention and admiration their deserve. I know that is how things are and probably will ever remain? just a shame.
Generally, concerning reviews and what others think etc I couldn?t care less. If im happy with my gaming experiences, all is well. But? on a grander scale of things, I cant help feeling a little sad about it. More for the designers, developers sake really
Ah well? never mind eh.
Roll on the 14th!

GS: When you first announced Fable you said you wanted to make "the greatest role-playing game of all time."
PM: I know. What was I thinking? I mean, I shouldn't ever have said something so monumentally arrogant if I wasn't 100% sure I could deliver. I'm sorry. I'm so very, very sorry. If people stay away from Fable in droves it'll be no more than I deserve; next time I'll make sure to leave every single feature we ever discussed during development in, and get it done in half the time, too. Excuse me, I'm just off to beat myself with birch strips.
(And KOTOR wasn't that great, either. Nor do I remember it having an astronomical list of features promised during development.)

Eight Rooks.
My dissapointment lies with PM, if only he would lay off the hype, and not Fable.
As I said in an earlier post, despite the fact PM has again fell short of his own hype it would appear that Fable is none-the-less a good old action adventure, but not the 'best ever'. I shall certainly be giving it a go on release, hopefully it will include birch strips in the packaging.

Taken from Kikizo ( full article and interviews here )
We also caught wind of a Fable follow-up, which we can reveal is known as Fable 1.5, and began development before Fable went gold a couple of weeks ago.
Lionhead's PR people were quick to point out that Fable 1.5 is "unconfirmed" - but according to Big Blue Box staff, it's entirely real.
We don't know much about what Fable 1.5 actually is, but one can guess it's an update of some kind, as opposed to a full-on sequel (as Peter put it in our first video interview with him, the sequel would need to be as "fresh and original" as the first game).
In fact, it was when discussing the possibility of downloadable content for Fable, that a Lionhead designer mentioned the arousing existence of Fable 1.5 - suggesting it could be an Xbox Live update - though we wouldn't rule out the possibility of it being the long-rumoured PC version of the game either.
And obviously, we wouldn't be surprised to see a full-on Fable 2 at some stage either. After all, there's always Peter's comment from our first interview to consider: "If we were thinking about a sequel... then co-op play and online would be one of things we'd think of putting in there."
And no, none of this relates to the censored portion of the second interview... that, we really can't talk about - Lionhead said so.
