    Not buying the 'killer app'

For many the original was the main reason to own an Xbox, but seeing as peoples taste varies so much I wondered how many, if any, people are uninterested in Halo 2 and wont be buying it on release?

The same question could be levelled at other consoles but perhaps to a lesser extent, like say do any Gamecube owners not own or have owned and played Super Mario Sunshine. C

ould there be a single game on any certain console which everyone actively posting on the forum will have bought and played at one time or another? Or does such a game not exist?

I don't understand your question, please rephrase.

I certainly wont be buying Halo 2, and I hardly played the first one either. I am not a fan of FPS at all.

Tetris is probably a good call.

I am sure any of us who bought a NES on release would have played Super Mario Brothers, or anyone who bought SNES will have played SUper Mario World.

Is there anyone out there who bought played Tetris/SMB/SMW at the time they came out and didnt enjoy them?

I guess I'm one of the few people who is not particularly interested in Halo 2. The reason, well I guess I just didn't like Halo. There were some good things about the game like the multiplayer, but apart from a few levels in the singleplayer(Silent Cartographer being the best IMO) I thought the singleplayer was distinctly below par. It also had the worst FPS level I've ever played in "The Library", that level was just plain grating on my nerves, although the last level was pretty frustrating as well. I hated the flood for that matter, I much preferred fighting the covenant. Again it wasn't all bad, I thought the story was decent enough.

I might give Halo 2 a chance but only once the price has dropped(which will probably be a long time judging by the amount of people hyped about the game), as long as the flood don't come anywhere near it or have as small a part as possible ft:

edit: I might add that I'm a big fan of FPS games as well, it just seems to me that very few console FPSs have come close to Goldeneye which IMO was and still is the best console FPS I've played, it was just a joy to play from start to finish.

I have owned Mario Sunshine, but I don't anymore.

I did own but never liked M:SR on Dreamcast.

I had Halo, but only because it was bundled with the machine. Didn't like PGR2 either.

As long as Halo2 has more than one hallway, I'll give it a go. If I'm not happy just think of the trade-in value.

I am very interested in Halo 2 but won't be buying it as I don't have an Xbox.

I borrowed my friends Xbox and a copy of Halo a few weeks after it was released and thought it a brilliant game.

I'm sure I'll be very jealous when everyone is playing Halo 2 in November.

I had Mario Sunshine and Windwaker, but got rid fairly soon after. Frustration and boredom the reasons, respectively.

Surely everyone in the world, ever, has played Tetris.

I won't be getting halo 2 on launch, I found the first pretty average really, and readin the threads and bungies website has done nothing to fire up any interest in it's sequel.

                      Tetris pwnz nuff said!

I won't be buying Halo 2 - I dont like FPS & Halo did nowt to change my mind.

What about the killer apps on PS2? Did everyone by GTA3/Vice City? I did, but then sold them very quickly.

I never had Tetris for my GB - in fact I only ever had 1 game for it. I actually have more GB games now than when I owned the silly thing.

I don't have Halo for the XBox and at the moment I'm thinking about not getting Halo 2 either.

I do have Sunshine for the Cube though but I have hardly played it.

Super Mario World - best launch title ever. I've never met someone who hasnt fell in love with the game.

Super Mario World for me was mindless pap. So there, you've kinda 'met' someone who hasn't fallen in love with it.
But then again, I'm not really into 2D platformers. Around that time I was playing ALOT of Street Fighter II. That was my bag!

I absolutely loved Halo, still do (paid ?450 for the Xbox and ?70 each for Halo and PGR on import from the states on release day, more than worth it!), will definitely be getting the next one as I have 3 on order from different online retailers. 2 Ltd Eds and 1 regular. Mainly as I want to keep one mint and sealed and the others are so I definitely have one to play on release. (we all know what some firms consider a quick delivery)
