Charlesr,
This is the only (& last) EA game I have, as of this morning I've had no reply and am still locked out of playing BO3. TBH, I blame a lot of this on EA splitting its online world up into regions. If it were merged like many XBL games I don't think this would be happening.
I couldn't even reply to the email, I tried but got an automated response of don't email this address!
Thankfully, I kept all correspondence of my previous racial battering!

I don't think 'fanny' has quite the same meaning to the yanks as it does here... but I still fail to see how 'nige' could be considered a racial slur. I think of it as calling someone American a 'Yank' or a British fella 'Limey', but then I'm not the most PC bloke ever
I've seen all kinds of weird and wonderful names on Live though. Blkvginafinda is one that springs to mind, Cunny Funt another. How's about REKCUFREHTOM?

Although I sympathise with you entirely Big Nigel, I *do* see where people are coming from thinking your name is offensive. I know it isn't, and all that, but it is quite feasible that someone unfamiliar with the origin of your name (i.e. a constriction of Big Nigel) could read your name as "big nig eh".
The fact that your 'tag is all one word doesn't help, and I guess that some people assume that the "nig" part is meant to rhyme with "big". With that as your starting point pronouncing the "e" as a "eh" sound isn't too much of a leap.
Unfortunately, if some people regard your name as racist (regardless of your intensions or not) then I have to side with EA and think you should change your gamer tag. No one should be allowed a ?tag that is considered by some racist, whether the intention of the tag was racist or not. By way of analogy, if some bloke's initials were "KKK", I don't think he should be allowed the tag "KKK Man", even with harmless intentions.
By the way, I think MS can change your tag in a way that updates everyone's friends list automatically. That happened to someone I know.

I agree with what you're saying in principle, Soi, but this particular case isn't quite so cut and dried. There's obviously a complete lack of communication going on for exactly the same thing to have happened twice.
Tbh, I'm much more worried about the fact that somebody here didn't realise that 'coon' is an offensive term.
