Does anybody have any links to news sites accepting submissions? I think I'll have a go at taking this further.

if i were you id change your name and forget about it, your name is causeing offence wether you mean it to or not by people readeing it the wrong way

the only way round it is as surgested 'anouncing that your name is nigel everytime someone comes in the room to avoid this missunderstanding' if you can be arsed to do that do it.

cyemonkey is right - whether you want to or not, your name is apparently offending some people. It's not your fault but you will have to do something about it. EA are showing that they listen to complaints (no matter how retarded the complaint may be) and they won't back down on this until you change your gamertag

        What about Bignige(L)?

That's bollox to be honest. He shouldn't have to change his name because people have no ****ing English skills. Should he change his name in real life too?

I feel ****ing angry reading this topic! The world has gone ****ing nuts.

Right let's throw some random complaints against some other users on the EA servers. I mean, they might not be offensive, but they are to me! There is a user called "Dave69". 69 is a rude word. Plus there was a man once cvalled Dave that ran off with my wife. And they probably 69'd. So I want Dave69 banned. Oh look! We have a user called FishyMcFish. I want him banned because it reminds me of the STD I caught off they trollop I was dating in 5th grade. RabbitMan? How insensitive! Doesn't he know my pet rabbit died last week? Either that or the perv means a rampant rabbit! FattyBoy? I'm overweight! That's a slur on me! BAN THEM ALL!!!!

All the 3 complaints above are ridiculous. But as long as EA looks into them eh? I mean, they are offending me so they should change their names, just to be nice and friendly to their fellow man.

Unfortunately, whether they deem something offensive or not has precisely zilch to do with if you either meant it to offend, or think that it really is offensive. Clearly someone (a moron, but someone) did take offense.

I'm guessing that even if you do manage to get yourself unbanned it'll happen again unless you get Microsoft to add that 'l' to the end of your name.

EA should just send an explanation (although it seems they don't keep records...) back to the complainee(s) (is that a word?). I can't see how they can be offended after this has all been explained to them. If they still have a problem I would suggest that it is them who should be banned for being nuisances without cause.

EA have already agreed once to let me keep my name, it it right for them to go back on an agreement?
I honestly think it's the same person/people who keeps complaining.

Refuse to comply. You have an agreement and an apology from EA after the first time this happened, it is your get out of jail free card.... not that you should need one.

My first thought is that this is a copycat complainant who has read your original thread and probably finds this amusing. It's either that or there really is someone as thick as the original complainant.

And dont do in here as most have suggested. "Oh you're causing offence even if unintended, so change your name" what a load of tosh.

                        Why should you?

As said its a communication error between two countrieis, we've been here before. Why should you have to give in and comply, because (most likely) some Americans can't learn to pronounce a name correctly and get all PC and uppity at it.

Surely EA could better spend their time "policing" the idiots who sit on there shouting abuse and generally being stupid down the communictor. Playing BO3, im sat with the world rank no 9, American, and he's sitting there going on about "how he's going to kick all our mother ****kan asses" and marking farting noises down the mic...

And this is what they call "The future of gaming", eh?

                          Hmph.

This is a big deffo on taking it further, I mean look at poor Mike Row and his website, now he is in discussion with Microsoft and won't back down, I belive they are even giving him freebies to try to make him take his site down. If nothing else it will be a cool news article.

The Mike Rowe thing is long finished - Microsoft were pretty good about it in the end and they did have a point although they went about the thing completely wrong initially.

I'm no expert but I can believe this being a good read for the Daily Mail audience. I've found:

As I said I don't know if its the best method of getting the story into the open. Still I imagine worth a try, for this tale of PC attitude gone too far...
