    Games that should of happened

Some people in one of my lectures were talking about cancelled games, and it got me thinking about titles that i would of personally loved to of seen hitting the shelves, for this generation theres been three titles that would of looked stunning in my games collection.

1.) Dead Phoenix, i remember all the big fuss around the gaming forums about the capcoms BIG five, and its a shame that this got cancelled because it reminded me so much of pdo, which is one of my favourite games this generation its a let down to know that this got cancelled just because of profits going down the year previous.

2.) Raven Blade, this game shocked me when i first saw it. I instantly wanted a gamecube it was just hot property to me after my n64 to see something so different being created by a 2nd party devco. I'd love to see retro studios pick this one back up after all the fuss over mp2 is done and dusted.....

3.) I dunno if many of you are aware of this title ever being announced but it was called asylum. I remember thinking wow! when i saw it being featured in cube magazine ages ago. It was gritty and edgy and something i thought the gc was lacking at the time, it was being created by a UK company that i think went bust as there other game they was creating which was multi platform has also been cancelled wreck n' krew.

Dead Rush! it was like GTA combined with Resident evil- alright so it didn't look like anything revolutionary, just a bit of fun.

I loved the untextured city in that PS2 FPS that made the front cover of Edge about issue 98. Unfortunately, I can't even remember the name of it now.

          Amen: The Awakening.
Looked gorgeous. Like Half Life 1.5. Cavedog were a mess at that stage so it didn't get very far though.

If you liked the look of Dead Rush you should try Zombie Panic! It's a new mod for Half Life that came out last week. There's one zombie and the rest of the players are humans. Every time a human dies he goes to the zombie team. Ammo is incredibly scarse so you have to keep going into the zombie spawn areas to grab more weapons. But weapons slow you down making it easier for the zombies to catch you.

Simple idea but it leads to tons of teamwork even on public servers. And more importantly it's bloody hilarious.

Starfox 2 on SNES. The (almost complete) beta was obtained/translated not so long ago, and they've done a great job of restoring this lost gem. It plays more like an action/strategy game instead of pure shooting, as Corneria is being attacked and you have to keep it covered at all times whilst destroying enemy installations on various planets. Plus your Arwing can transform into walker mode, and you can choose your pilot/co pilot.

Really is a shame this wasn't released, as it pushes the SNES's 3d abilities to the limit, and was playable from start to finish before being canned.

Too Human, surely - I know this was FMV only in terms of what they showed but the premise had so much potential and it looked mucho stylish. Or is it still a live project? What are SK doing now, anyway?

ShenMue 3. Did they ever even start that I wonder.

And ShenMue Saturn. Looked like it would have been a technical masterpiece.
