Consolevania is the best out there at the moment but there's no way I can see them getting away with their current stuff on TV. It'll be watered down and made politically correct.

The thing about Games Master is that its kind of like Top Gear is now. It was more about (childish) entertainment than being aimed at the hardcore gamer so it appealed to a wide range of the public. Hell, my wife told me yesterday she watched it when she was at school. I'm sure like a lot of things it might not have aged well, but I think there's a place for something like GM now. When Games Attack might not be the best, but I find it quite watchable, throwaway TV, albeit highly immature.

We really don't need Gamesmaster back on the telly, you've just forgotten how crap it was that's all.

Someone also got Geri Halliwell to make a pilot of that "Fashion Police" show and this was before she was actually famous, people ask **** to be made in to pilots case closed.

And No I dont mean the newer version of it that was totally sh*t with a really bad presenter, bad games, idiots contestants and no proper `games gurus`.

I mean the series when it first come out, when they had proper challenges, SNES/3DO/NEOGEO all the cult consoles were in it. I dont remeber the presenters name but he was fairly `big built` and that show really knew how the rip the f**king piss outta everyone/thing that went on there.

And the `games gurus` who the contestants went up against were actually really good games players.

                  Master Moriati (sp?)
Games Mersia (omg I just realised my English (or engrish as it were) is absolutely appauling !
                  Bad Boy Barry
And the `games mistress` (aka Jet out of gladiators loooooolll!!!)

Lol I cant beleive I remember those names, but damn in the early ninties that was the show to watch and I must say I dont think anything has come close to touching it.

Also I rememeber a show on Sky TV (really dunno what channel, perhaps challenge tv? although I dont think that was around then). But it used to be on around 4pm and always had super mario bros 3 competitions. That was heavy too !!

                  *rolls around on floor*

                  Hysty ^____^;;;

yeah i remember those old gamesworlds too - omg how could you get it wrong!?!?!?

                  it's BIG BOY BARRY!!!

I remember they always used to play this weird 2d 'racing' game with the hannah barbera characters running around a single-screen track.

Oh, and they had that nifty thing where you ring up and play the games over your phone. Problem was they played the touch-tones on the program so all you'd hear was peeep! pooop! peeep! once they even had super streetfighter 2 on the megadrive over the phones. it was kinda cool watching someone doing the blanka roll on their phone...

as for Dave Perry, he's better than me on mario64 anyway, so i can't really laugh at him too much, although it was hilarious. although if i was him i would have just used the stunning typical gamesmaster "the joypad was broken" excuse. that one got me through high school, that did.

Good to know it's not just pornstars and popstars that lie about their age.

C'mon Dom you can still be down with the kids in your late 30's.

If they were all on a couple of DVD's at a cheap price then maybe, but most of the stuff on them is pretty irrellevant now.

A couple of old celebs no one remembers playing some old games that no one remembers followed by a review of a game that no one remembers.

A bit like buying old copies of Points of View to hear about the comments on The Forsyth Saga.

I'd buy it because I'm a Patrick Moore completist.
