Metropolis Street Racer deserves a mention, the best driving game on the system for me.

Please remove Crazy Taxi 2 from that list because it's awful and add Chu Chu Rocket which IMO must be one of the best multiplayer games ever.

Indeed. There's quite a few ordinary games being recommended.

Yes, Chu Chu Rocket! can of course be played offline.

Chu Chu Rocket is indeed the daddy.

It's also fun to play the single player as a pseudo co-op game.

Three people sat around the telly, one controller. Lots of shouting of sentences like "No, down a bit, down a bit, there! Put the down arrow there.......oh, bollocks, it looked like it was going to work......" followed by a few minutes of silence as everyone traces the routes in mid air with their finger....teh most fun.

wasn't the question could it be played ONline? :P

No I don't think it can. Chuchu rocket was worth filling in that dream arena form purely for the puzzle mode

tbh, there are too many DC games I want to recommend to make it worth it. I adore the system, still my fave "this" gen :P

Crazy Taxi 2 is still a bucketload better than most games released these days, and imo well worth purchasing at ?10.

Heres a list from www.onlineconsoles.com of DC games still "online"

Phantasy Star Online Ver. 1 & 2 (PAL 56k and BBA)
                      F355 Challenge (All regions 56k or 33k)
Quake III: Arena (NTSC-U 56k and BBA)
Starlancer (NTSC-U and PAL versions 56K)
                      4X4 Evolution (NTSC-U 56k)
                      Sega Swirl (NTSC-U 56k)

Have just bought a universal DC which plays games from any region in full screen and at full speed without the need for any boot disk, so I am really looking forward to reaquanting myself with the DC again, hopefully it should keep me satiated until the xbox 360 is released

no way! i liked crazi taxi 2 just as much as the original, its much more challenging and offspring provided a much better soundtrack than the original as well. You people are missing a few games -

                          -pen pen
                          -bust a move 4
                          -mr driller
                          -fighting vipers 2
                          -cannon spike
-i can't believe that you people have totally forgotten to mention any of the KOF's, even guily gear has been mentioned but no KOF. WHATS WONG WITH YOU PEOPLE.

The DC, may it rest in peace. Years ahead of it's time, brilliant games, what more can you say.

Noobs. Le Mans 24 is better than both of those. (I do actually hold that opinion).

The DC's ability to play imports with a disc that came on the front of the official DC magazine and the fact that most of the PAL games had 60Hz support as standard made the DC great. It had a decent selection of games worth buying it for, although very shooter/fighter biased. Rush 2049 should be on that list for the multiplayer party mode.

F355 ruled, cliff face learning curve and all.
