i bought daytona for ?5 last year, played it for a day, then sold it straight away on ebay for ?18 inc postage!

i loved daytona back in 96, but its got no place now! (the music's still great though!)

It becasue it could and should have been Arcade perfect and it isn't .
The only one that comes close is the Saturn AM#2 port. That has the excact same handling and more importantly AI of the Arcade game.
In how the cars hustling and surround you from side to side, and in how the other cars crash and fly all over the place.
It's inthe DC version to some extent , but not a patch on the Model 2 or AM#2 Saturn port.

That?s not to say 2001 is a bad game, far from it (loved it online) Just so disappointing that it wasn?t the Arcade perfect version fans have been waiting years for .

And I know as I must have spent over ?500 on the Arcade version

well isn't it cross platform now being on xbox and ps2. i always prefer to only count exclusives in topics like this but then again that would mean no shenmue 2 and ikaruga on the list which is heresy!

I was going for this, but I picked up the PS2 version instead. Much better...

If in a world where longer load times = much better then yes.

Even though the PS2 version has extras I'd take the Naomi - DC conversion everytime.

Rayman 2 is the best non Nintendo 3D platform game imo and the DC has the best version of it. (Okay Rayman Revolution had a few extras, but it's frame rate was ropey as hell) Amazingly well optimised title and well worth picking up by anyone who hasn't already had chance to sample it.

Evil Twin was such a dissapointment after how good the port of Rayman 2 was, this is how ALL the ports from 32/64 bit consoles shud have been done.
