Gears of War isn't a launch title, never was. They're shooting for the first quarter 2006 I think. Too bad as it's by far the most impressive looking game on the system so far.

I'd struggle to find anything of interest if that's the line-up tbh. Re-buying yet another Dead or Alive re-release, especially as the visuals are little better than Xbox 1 level is not an enticing prospect. Gotham will probably be okay, but again, it's just the same old game re-released. Kameo looked desperately mediocre at E3.

Perfect Dark I assume is going to be the biggie. IGN seemed to like what they saw at E3 behind closed doors and promised it looked much better than those terrible screen shots. Halo 1 looked poor when it was first shown on Xbox 1 so fingers crossed...

I was kind of hoping Dead Rising might be a launch title. Could be a lot of fun with all those zombies on screen.

The only interesting title out of all of them is Metronome.

Burnout 4 and PGR 3 is just a more of the same we all know it, so dont kid yourself.

I personally hate FPS because well they're all the same at heart nothing new, so Quake 4/Gears of War/Huxley and Perfect Dark are instantly scratched off the list. (As a side note whats so special about Gears of War the engine to me doesn't look one bit any good, all the models look like they've just rolled out of the Toy Soldiers movie).

I'm no good at fighting games so DoA is of no interest.

I dont believe for one second FF is a launch title, Frame City Killers continues the trend of pure **** by Namco (god they've gone down hill) its awful in everyway, Demonik is a no show for me and drum roll please Kameo will flop...

Project Gotham 3 has the potential to be amazing. PGR2 was an exceptional game- but the 30fps and creaky engine really brought down the experience. No2 showed how talented Bizarre are and that they have a vision for the ultimate street racing game- which couldn't be done total justice on the XB1 hardware.

With the immense power of the 360- we will hopefully have the PGR experience all fans dream of i.e.. 60fps- solid physics and mind-blowing visuals!

Lets not underestimate how breath-taking PGR3 has the potential to be- for a lot of people it provokes far more enthusiasm than the next GT title.

Sure, Gotham 3 will be 60fps, but what else? I always found Gotham's game system to be flawed, inherantly broken and I really doubt they will change it as it seems to be what the series is built around.

KUDOS - forcing the player to drive really badly and yet still expect him to win races by finishing first.

Racing drivers don't drift around corners, they just don't. It's not the quickest way to drive. It's also at odds with the grey faced realism of the rest of the game. If they want it to be a BurnOut type arcade game, then fine, do that, encourage the player to drift, tailgate, and whatever else. But if they want it to be a serious racer, then drop KUDOS.

I'm sure it will look nice graphically, and be a nice early 360 technical showcase.

Forza is a much better serious racer. And for arcade thrills, there's OutRun 2 and BurnOut.

My brother enjoyed PGR2, but all you've described is a graphically update kingston lj that?s all. I don?t think the genre can be taken much further, plus as Katatsu Neko said the whole drift kudos points is thick because then your not taking the racing line?!? So what?s the point in playing a realistic racing sim if you're not going to be rewarded for playing it 'properly'. When I played it I found it really soulless, just a really dull experience. I preferred playing Rallisport Challenge 2, which is a much better driving experience, although I'm rubbish at it compared to my brother (but thats another story).

Oh and kingston lj to your other comment I'm staying WELL clear of the XBOX 360 your totally correct on me hating it :P

Edge have said the handling in PGR3 is even more like Ridge Racer- powerslides ahoy!!

I agree that the Kudos system is boring and a chore- but the only reason I play the game is for XBLive and it really does come alive played against other people. The amount of fun I had with no2 was incredible- even though I hated the boring single-player modes!

I don't think its fair to compare the handling model of a track based serious racer to PGR's fun and easy going system. Both have their place- and I like having a choice- because sometimes I just love something less demanding!

You look at the racing market and see GT-RR-PGR-BO-OR2-Forza etc... All racers have a different feel- its just a case of finding out what you like. I personally love all the aforementioned titles!

No they quite clearly didn't. They said it looked like the handling had taken on a dynamic more similar to Ridge Racer. But this is based purely on the video which everyone has seen now, which is quite clearly staged.

How can somebody hate a system they haven't even played yet? Are you some sort of Sony/Nintendo fanboy or something.

Any word on a Shadowrun title? An informant told me they were working on one for launch. They're fairly reliable, and claimed it was on Microsoft's official in-house list. Maybe it's been pushed back... Then again, maybe they were mistaken.

I would love them to bring a Shadowrun title to the 360, i played Shadowrun on the Snes and thought it was one of the best games, ever. If Shadowrun is a 360 launch title, then for me, this is the killer app.

That's what I thought. It's also what the guy I was speaking to said. They own do own the license, and there is strong suggestions they're doing with it what they did with Crimson Skies.

I've yet to have any proof beyond word of mouth though.

because its a sequel to a system that I hate and continues down the exact same road as its predecessor. If you read my first post you would of worked that one out by what I've said about its launch titles, but instead you had to try and be a smart ass.

Still you can't comment on something that you haven't even played, when the system gets released you might like the titles, taking into account that you play them.

Seems to me a lot of people are not hating the system but the games. It's definitely a serious problem that the launch won't have any RPG's or unique titles. Microsoft are obviously finding it difficult to get the top Japanese companies to support the launch- a few A-Grade Japanese games would really help the system.

With the PS3 bound to have lots of great Japanese RPG's and other far-east delights- I can see why people with a dislike of FPS's/Racers/Fighters are not that excited by the 360; Microsoft definitely need to try harder to address this issue!
