Are you going HD for the Xbox 360 or not??

Just wondering how many of you are going HD for the 360?

I'm in two minds at the moment due to costs but very tempted

I wasn't at first - but from the sounds of it, the whole point of X360 is HD, not playing the games in HD would be like playing current gen stuff through composite (or even black and white).

I have set aside a budget of ?1000 (and no more) for a 32" LCD screen, probably going to get the JVC model that some other guy has got on this forum.

Another way to think about it - ?1000 for screen and ?279.99 = ?1279.99, compared to a top of the range gaming PC, its quite favourable. (and how many gaming PCs have wireless joypads and a 32" LCD?)

I'll stick with my normal TV untill the price comes down. The HD, yeah its nice, but i'll still be able to enjoy next gen graphics, even if they are less sharp and maybe a bit less clear.

No chance! A game might be little bit better in HD, but not ?1000 better.

Most definately going HD, I saved and worked long and hard for my HDTV.

That said, even people who can't afford it can go HD for a mere ?20 with the VGA cable.

The thing i've gotta decide is it's either getting this for HD 360 (Bedroom set plus money won't let me get anything more expensive)

or it's sticking to the 28" widescreen i've been using.

Can't decide what to do cause it's one or the other

If you play a lot of games with mates and stuff, then you may prefer the bigger screen.

If your picky about resolutions and stuff like I am, you may prefer the small LCD... but how big it your PC monitor? That can't be much smaller and you could use that.

                    Hi mate, cheers for replying.

Cause i'm back living with the parents it's not really the best place to have mates over.....so I abuse their places instead

My pc's only got a 15" monitor (Was the best size for carting to and from uni) and there's no way i'd wanna put the 360 on it, it'd upset me too much lol.

The main reason why i've been put off uptil now is cause I still wanna play my jap saturn, dc, ps2 etc and i've heard/read countless times how they look crap through lcd

I've already got a progressive scan dvd/divx player so thats all good, just wanna decide today if i'm going for it or not. What do u rekon?

i'd go for it, replace your pc monitor with that and keep your 28inch tv for the old consoles.

So have the PC and 360 running through that, then keep the 28" tv for the rest?

Is running something like the saturn through RGB really THAT bad on LCDs?

thats what i would do, unless you found the saturn to look fine through scart on the lcd(you might who knows)

i guess you could allways send it back if you don't like it

Im not gonna bother atm with all this 720p, 1080i and whats the point if your gonna get a 26", atm ill stick with my panny 42" EDTV and if I really need to view at 720p ill use my 20" wide TFT. I'm not trying to put HD down i'm all for better picture but atm its not worth it. Standard TV (including freeview) looks crap on HD screens, by the time everything else you connect up to your telly gets into the HD age, nicer, bigger and cheaper screens will be out, little old jammi is holding out for a 65" 1080p screen
