I can't wait to play PGR3, end of story. That's why I'm so excited about the 360 and the fact its a new console obviously.
I think the launch lineup is a lot stronger than most, there's not a killer game like Halo there (although IMO PGR3 is still a AAA title), but there's some quantity and some well known franchise titles from EA for example. Which might not mean anything to us, but for the "casual" gamer it might well persuade them to trade in their existing console for a 360. If you can find any on the shelves obviously.
The Xbox launch line-up was a corker but was quite niche in terms of the mass appeal. Especially as it took MS a couple of years to build up the brand as a serious contender. I think round about the time of PGR2 coming out, a lot more people who had only ever owned a PS, started to pick up Xboxes.
It'll be interesting to see the sales figures and how MS maximise their head start on their rivals. That'll be their main priority now, so although there is a shortage just now, I can't see it lasting. They've already said there will be regular deliveries over the next while, I jsut can't see them wanting to miss out on a single sale because of shortages. Fair enough at the launch day you might get some disgruntled punters, but with no other new console (PSP apart) out there, most would be happy to pick it up in the near future, especially with Christmas on the way.
Bit rambling and off topic, oops.
As for the MS hating, its been around since the Xbox launched. I remember the amount of people who said they'd never even consider buying an Xbox, purely because MS made it.
