Because i'm staff, they let me into game at 8:20am, when they're not supposed to be open till 9.

There was a queue outside.

I just held up my bag, and flashed a huge grin at them.

Bit of a nightmare for me. Got to Toys R Us at 9am, few people had camped for the extra core packs.

Seeing people turned away because they thought they could buy them there and then was funny.

Anyway, turns out the card payment system was down, and for some reason the manual way wouldn't work. So I had to run to the supermarket and withdraw ?250 (my limit).

I had ?70 in cash with me, but was ?24 short according to the receipt. Only when I arrived back to try and beg someone for the extra cash, they noticed the till women has ADDED my ?10 deposit on top, so the total was ?314 in the end and I had enough.

My heart was beating, people stared at me thinking I was trying to con them with an empty bank account, but I got it.

And its ****ing heavy. Now to look inside.

Well its here at last and worth it wait it ****eing was.

Got into the queue at my Game at about 11.30 and they were drip feeding folk in so didnt get in the store tilll about 11.45. At this time they were dealing with customers who didnt have pre-orders and were just lucky enough to get one of the few packs left over and were pulling all their stuff together.

Then they decided to pull out the stuff from the back a few bags at a time and shout out who they were for. This seemed ok till I realised they were selling all the core packs that had just been snapped up so pre-order customers were going to be left to the end. Didnt care though, by 12.45 I had my pack, games and Advanced Scart ready to go.... minus my Play and charge kit because the manager forgot to put it in, substituting it for a network adapter which I dont think would have helped So I as one of the last to get it but so happy carrying it I didnt care!! Short walk back to car and fired up the road with a HUGE smile on my face.

Took a while to get everything set-up correctly but when finally got it on I could have cried with how it good it was... The dashboard, the little new live environment, the gamer card features and the games themselves all blew me away.

Good things come to those who wait and I have waited long and hard for this baby... its now time to enjoy it :F ****en amazing.

PS. How much of an absolute **** are those advanced Scart boxes to open, nearly lot the plot with it last night

Well, we went to the Trafford Asda around 9 last night and there were people hovering but no queue. We asked a staff memebr and he said that people had been queuing from the morning and so they'd been given a reciept allowing them priority for the ones in stock. Anyone who wasn't there at 12 would find their system had been given out first come first served. Seeing as the likelyhood of getting one was damn low we forgot about it and went home.

We set out again this morning and got into Manchester at around 7.45. Game was open as was Gamestation. Low stocks on accessories but they had some Core consoles left so picked one up with the bundle that is Condemned or King Kong (chose Condemned) plus two games of your choice so I got Kameo and PDZ Limited Edition. They weren't enforcing the bundles though, people were free to take the system solo but they were almost out, had one left when we left. Later on picked up PGR3 and so just need a VGA cable and HDD now.

This thing is absolutely amazing. Had no troubles at all everything just worked. turned the thing on with pad first time so haven't even needed to sync the pad

I headed to Toys R us at abuot 8 this morning. After a few minutes of waiting, a staff member appeared with some tickets

"We have 9 Core systems left and no hard drives, some guys have been queing since 11.30 last night"

at this point I'm thinking...mm mm my premium, but as people start taking tickets , I panic and take one too. I then ask whats happened to my premium, as it turned out he thought all the campers were late adopters. So i just strolled in pick up the perhiperals I wanted (play and charge and wireless pad) and strolled to the Til.

Panic wasn't over yet, was my card gonna accept?

Yep

Then I had to wait behind a bunch of people from the collection point, I was still worried something would go wrong.

Got the 360 and left.

Completely ****ed over by Amazon - they've sent out their launch day allotment in a completely bull**** random order, and now have removed any promise of delivery before Xmas.

Didn't bother with 24-hour stores last night based on queues and was so disheartened at being rump****ed by Amazon I didn't even try to get to Toys'r'Us this morning.

Officially the last time I can be bothered to try and get a console at launch. Literally, if the guy responsible for ****ing up Amazon's waiting list was in front of me, I would tear his arms and legs off and molest him with the stumps.

man........ had an exhusted evening going to Oxford Street to see if any major retailer had any left for first come first serve. Got to OS at around 8ishPM, First we went Hamleys - thought we'd be clever NONE, then we went HMV NONE, then GAME they said maybe tomorrow but def no Premiums, Dixons next - 4 core packs for friday left, went to HMV trocadero NONE, then went to Virgin in Picadilly - they have spare premiums first come first serve for when they opened friday. My mate and i was contemplating whether to drive to watford ASDA but decided againts. We went home feeling ****e, but decided to go back to Virgin at 3.30AM. There were a queue of around 9 people so i told my mate to jump out the car and bag a space in the queue for us while i found a parking space. Anyway after 5 1/5 hours of waiting in the cold and rain there were about 40 people in the queue. Virgin confirmed that there are 13 Premium Packs and around 25 cores for sale and we were 10th and 11th in the queue. So we got our 360s and games but i didn't get a scart lead. So i went to High Street Kensington to check Game, Virgin, PC world and Argos but none. Then we went Queensway to Game and gamestation again none. So i have to play my 360 with composite at the mo

Anyone who can get any RGB scart leads lemme know pleaseeee......

Just missed the last Xbox Premium pack at the local Comet of all places, by half an hour. Gutted. The Currys round the corner still has the ?209 bundle. Dunno what to do, really.

Oh Well

After deciding NOT to go to Asda last night I set out this morning at a leisurely 9.00am. And guess what? I could have bought a CORE pack. Comet were doing a bundle for ?279.99 - Core System, extra Wires controller, King Kong and PDZ. They had several.

However, a guy in front of me had pre-ordered 3 premium systems!! Obviously to sell on Ebay. That is what has pissed me off about this launch. No-one at launch wanted a CORE system and those that were worried about price were getting shafted by the bundles, so end up paying just as much as a core system.

I had two chances to get a core system this morning, GAME and Comet, but surely the next gen is not just about the graphics. It is about the wireless pad, it is about a sizeable hardrive with extras pre-loaded, it is about having a single machine that developers can work to.

Anyway I have decided to leave it until the new year, will pick up some cheapo Xbox and GC games for now... and who knows Nintendo or Sony may be getting my money instead.

EDIT - And it IS about the HD as well, it was MS who persuaded me to purchase a Hi-Def set, now I have got nothing to feed it, thanks MS!!

its for the casual gamer, so nobody here wants it, but I know a few people who are getting one that are more than happy

Easy, more profit, cos people who want the premium pack will get the core pack and fork out for the accessories. MS = Win.
