Once you manage it you'll hear a tone - but it wont register as an achivement until you finish that game, as in - lose all your lives. I quit back to the main menu as soon as i managed it the first time and was gutted when it didn't register!
    Got it

Kameo is far to generous, eh?!

Save one of those guardians and you get 100 points straight away!

It should be generous as its **** scary.

You should be able to redeem the points from Condemned at the M&S pants dept.

They are the virtual willy waving banners, as far as I can see.

                    eh?

it brings back that 'retro' ethos of bragging about your achievements in games - "I can one credit this game", "I can go through this entire level without shooting one person" etc etc ... its bringing the community feel back into gaming (not everyone wants to play multiplayer games, this allows them to join in the community via single player challenges)

                    so its a bit ****?

Mine's gone up to 4 and a smidgen, even though I've only had one rating against me for being aggressive (a presumably negative one). This was after a 4-5 hour stint of PGR 3 online, so my guess would be that if you play a lot of players who don't rate you at all then eventually your rep will go up. Whereas if you play people who rate you positively it will go up faster.

From the school of thought that people will moan quicker than they will praise, so this balances it out somewhat.

Sorry for being a thicko, but can someone just explain the Reputation system to me. Why does it go up? Can it go down? I was playing PGR3 online last night and my rating was 3.5. Just checked my Gamercard and its now on 5. Confused!!

Everytime you play a game, you can leave what is effectively "feedback" for a player, be it good or bad. Your rep changes accordingly.

Whether there will be reproccussions for a poor rep I don;t know. I hope not, because there will alwas be some tosser (ie. American) leaving poor feedback for everyone that beats him.

Does it actually tell you all that John? I mean, could I actually look at your details and see that you completed Kameo in 4 and a half hours, stuff like that?

If those examples you give are actually true, then yes, that is impressive. All i've seen though is stuff like, you've found a bird, you've completed a level on gotham. Which to be honest, doesn't impress me at all...

It depends on the game - if there was a 4 hour achievement badge on Kameo then yes.

I'm guessing you don't actually have a 360 & Live - the thing with the acheivement stuff is it's driving you to play harder and better at the games you have. If you can get some of the acheivements on CoD2 or Geometry Wars then that is very impressive.

I'm currently trying to get to rank 1 on the Euro 8 ball on the Billiards arcade game - currently ranking 4th, but I'm determined to get to the #1 spot - that's what the achievements and ranking systems are all about.

So far my experience has been that you get an acheivement award for turning the console on, managing to talk and play at the same time, having opposable thumbs etc.
Just seems like the whole system is devalued; when you do get a worthwhile achievement, people will have to look through 27 other useless ones to see it.
