Xbox 360 faceplate thread!!

I like the look of the cherry blossom one on the left.

I'm still not happy with just faceplates over true limited edition consoles which have side panels and controllers all given the special treatment. With faceplates you can just replace them and turn the console into just another common unit.

To pull it off without snapping the thing, put your right thumb into the right hand side of the USB port hole thing, and pull. Comes out nicely. Put the left hand side of the faceplate in first when putting it back on, then click the right hand side in.

I did have the Sun, it's nice, but got too tempted by the PGR3 faceplate. My brother has the silver faceplate, it's actually really nice.

I just picked up the Amsterdam X05 faceplate.

I'm gonna rip it out of it's packaging as well and install it - I wonder how many have actually been opened?

Yeah I was having a look at ltd ed faceplates on ebay & noticed you'd won an X05 plate. Looks like you got yourself a pretty good deal there as a couple have sold with a 'buy it now' price of around $190 recently.

ps. good to hear that you're going to use it. Pretty sure most people just buy 'em as an investment.

Well, considering that probably only 1 or 2 have ever been opened it'll make mine even rarer. LOL.

Not that I'm arsed - I only bought it for the official "I*heart* Amsterdam!" message.

Not sure if this has already been linked but this site seems to have a few nice designs, not official microsoft ones tho so maybe no good for collectors but they have some nice ideas.

Some quite cool designs there Tom_1. Do you know if they are just decals or actual faceplates?

I kind of expected M$ to have released more official faceplates by now to be honest. Most of the ones available so far (apart from a couple of the ltd editions) have been pretty average tbh.

Managed to get the GR:AW faceplate on and remove the standard 360 one without too much trouble. Doesn't look quite flush mind along the top but it won't snap into place any further and it's hardly noticeable.

is it possible to get replacement side panels for the 360? i'd LOVE to spraypaint my 360 neon pink but if it dies...............

if i can whip the sides off and send it back 'unmarked' then it's all good.

amen, im hating the chrome..... i think that could be one of the cultural differences between europe and the US. We grew out of chrome in the 90s
