Funding Gaming......

With all the recent events of the Xbox 360 im just woundering how everyone on here gets ready for a console or a handheld launch money wise!

I got my DS for xmas last year and my PSP for my birthday all around lauch either in the US or Japan so no probs there.

The 360 didnt really interest me until October and I just had to have one on launch! I reserved one from my local game, but that twenty quid is about all i had! So i had to beg my missus and my mum to let me have one with some games off them for xmas!

Was a pain in the ass getting it on lauch and only getting to test it for a few hours but hey i got one nevertheless.

Now to my point!! Playstation 3 and the Rev are out this year, but for me theres not a bday or a xmas insite for when they launch. I have 300 quid saved up ready for em, just through not buying as many games as i normally would and cutting back on other bits and bobs.

No doubt closer to the time ill have to sell a few things to help fund but hey I reakon im doing well. The only thing in the back of my head is that the 360 is far far far better than i ever imagined do i really need a Playstation 3 and a Rev? Who am i kiding yeah i do!

How does the rest of you fund your gaming and are you ready for the rest of next gen???

Rev only for me at the moment until I see something about PS3 that makes me consider it a worthwhile investment (given they're gonna want a whack of cash for it).

Meanwhile, I'd imagine Revolution will come in reasonably priced & offering something different (as well as the entire Nintendo back-catalogue).

And I have a job so I'll fund it that way

Yeah i have a job too, but i also run a house, car etc..... so somtimes other things have to come first.

Was woundering if people set money aside every month etc... sell there excisting games....

Actually Marcus's idea came from me, he stole it from me the thieving bast! you go public with my idea that i came up with on the can and ima hafta get medievil on your Neko!

Its simple really what you do to afford consoles, either sell your body or dont buy on release!

I sell older games to buy newer ones. I rarely keep games, unless they are either very special or very **** (to the point I can't even give it away!).

I own a total of about 40 games over seven systems, which isn't actually that much.

I can afford whatever I want, when I want, benefit of hard work and being 37.

My 360 was 'free' as I bought and sold 10 360's from various sources and made a tidy profit. I've got 2 games for the 360 and a way healthy 'games balance'.

I'm a bit worried about all these consoles this year. I usually spend most of my gold on games etc., but this year I gotta save a ton for a trip to the far east (next April) aswell as buying a car in April.

Once I'm on the road, I'm packing in my piece of **** job for one with a bigger pay.
