It's just my personal opinion but I don't think the d-pad is an improvement on the Lite. It's definitely different and may well suit some people better but I don't feel it's a step up really. I feel the Micro's pad is better. The buttons are much better though.

Looks like the supply situation will get better in the next few weeks. Just read this at Kotaku :
A sign (literally) that things are starting to normalize in Japan. This Den-Den Town shop offers to buy ?used? DS Lites at 16,000 yen (US $137), which is lower than the original sale price of 16,800 yen (US $144). Then, the store will mark up the price to like $250 bucks. Ah, supply and demand?
Speaking of which, Nintendo announced that there will be more DS Lites coming out next month. Thank gawd! This weekend, the DS Lites sold plum out. April will see 700,000 in fact. Hey Nintendo, save one for our patient contest winner.
On another note, for anyone without a stepdown (I realised didn't have one when I got back) for the Lite, I just took the power supply for it down to my local Maplins and showed it to one of the assistants, since I'm rubbish with all this voltage stuffHe checked it out and went and got me a converter that does the job fine for ?5.
The product code is RP90X. Search it on Maplins site or just say that to them and they'll sort you out with one.
