does anyone's battery indicator work on the menu? i am on my third charge now and each time it stays full.

Final Fantasy III themed DS's are getting released in Japan along with the Black version. I'm surprised the US haven't got the Black DS Lite yet? Are there more people with i-pods or something in Europe, Japan or something? The market over there in the US is massive, so why its not released yet is anyones guess?

I think that FF3 themed DS looks sweet.

How ****ing typical, right after I buy one new DS a newer version that I want comes out. I only had the original model for about 5 months before I traded it ;_;

Same thing with mine. Both screens tilt to the left, bottom screen more so than the top.

I don't suppose there's anyway to correct the geometry of the screens? I've already had to exchange one DSL because of dead pixels so I'm not interested in exchanging again when the risks of getting another with a dead pixel are quite high.

Not an expert or anything, but can you actually correct problems like that with LCD screens? I fear it's more a problem of the screen has been put in the case slanted or something?

Tbh im not sure the icon is so small, I do have to say the menu is totally shoddy, it looks ok but its bloody useless! and turning off everytime i set new stuff is daft.

Absolutely right. LCD technology does not suffer from geometry errors (which in CRT's are typically caused by magnetic fields or poor set-up due to the speed at which they're churned off the production line). There's no projection of the image taking place - just illumination of the pixels.

I'd take the DS back to the retailer, show them and ask for a replacement - it's a small screen and used quite close-up, so any slanting is bound to be noticeable - they should exchange it for another.

Returned my DS to Comet today, two weeks after purchases due to a stuck pixel developing right in the middle of the top screen. Felt like a bit of a dolt complaining about this tiny dot but they exchanged it for me.

Got mine from lik sang and have a red pixel stuck on bottom screen, not all that noticable but still irritating. lik sang insist that nintendo japan won't swap them just for one dead pixel. anyone got any ideas?

I sent my import one back to Nintendo UK. They will swap it for a brand new DS for ?25.00 inc P&P if it bothers you.

****, I was reading that feature and kept thinking "wow, how the hell does the exact same crack happen to so many people" etc, and wouldn't you know it: Mine has one as well. Still, I'm not exactly heartbroken - it's hard to notice (I didn't until just now!), and impossible to see when the DS is open. Hardly think the machine is going to fall apart any time soon either.


Edit: Mine's a Ice Blue imported from Play-Asia, by the way.

After having played with my niece's navy blue DS over the weekend, I think I am in love.
I now intend to buy one (assuming I can actually find one in the shops) but as a complete DS noob, I need some advice.

So the question is.......

What are the top 3 games on the system?

Subjective question - I haven't played that many titles but I'd go for :

New Super Mario Bros (obvious)
Mario Kart (again - obvious)

The it depends what you like - If you like Tony Hawk then get it - it rules on DS, If you like Metroid get that and if you like Wario Ware etc etc.

Of course you could always get something original like Ouendan, Trauma Centre or Phoenix Wright - There are LOADS of titles I've still to play on DS.

In my opinion at least you NEED Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney! Simply one of the best games you could ever hope to find! So unique, so clever, so MUST BUY!

Other than that I don't think you could go wrong with Mario & Luigi Partners in Time, if you fancy some nice RPG style action. Tetris DS or Zoo Keeper will solve your puzzle needs too.

Animal Crossing is another nice title if you like that sort of thing.

I'm sure someone here would suggest New Super Mario Bros too, but as I have yet to play it I can't really comment but I hear good things about it
