Can't imagine going back to the old one once I have a Lite. Looks to be a huge improvement.

According to a reliable poster on GAF, only 60k were available for launch. That's a tiny number and I'm sure all were picked up within minutes. There's just no stock for importers to buy.

The shipment for the other 2 is 40k of each, again very small when you consider the demand. No doubt there'll be huge queues on Saturday again. I think it's going to be a few weeks before units become readily available to importers.

I think importers are looking at a post E3 date for being able to grab one at the proper price. Problem is that Nintendo will be using the Lite to showcase all their new stuff at E3 (educated guess) so the yanks will all want one too.
Just hope they announce the US release date soon :/

The amount of improvement that Nintendo have put into it's styling, size and screen completely outweigh any niggles over the slight protrudement of the GBA cart. I can't believe this was such a big deal to certain folk.

It's never been an issue for me. I have my Micro for GBA games.

Well it's an issue for me but I agree that the improvements more than make up for it.

It does look to be a big improvement. I'll be patient and wait though I think. My DS is looking pretty battered (use, use and more use) and in 6 months I'll be looking for a replacement anyway.

Sold my PSP this week too so that should pay for it

There's always going to be piracy/emulation. If Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo were that smart there wouldn't be any emulation, but there not. If games continue to be priced at ?30/45 there will always be pirates and there's nothing any of the above companies can do about it, apart from make it harder to copy/emulate games. But there's some good hackers out there that'll fight tooth and nail to crack the security these games have.

To be honest i think if games were priced at ?10 there would still be people emulating the games, because to them it's a challenge to break the games security. In the Speccy days people were copying games and they were ?3 a pop.

I remember that actually, most of the time copying em didn't bloody work anyway...Speccy games weren't cheap at the time though! (Unless I was just poor).

I'm really tempted to get a new DS after having my original nicked on holiday, I used the insurance money to get a PSP but I'm really only playing Pro Evo on it...DS seems to have LOTS of games I'm gonna want soon (Mario etc) and stuff like Mario Kart right now, whereas the PSP I can't find a game I want for love nor money!

There is no EU or US release date yet. Rumour has it it might surface in the US in May...

It's totally region free though so obviously no reason to wait for an EU release.

Well there is for me, since I'm skint at the moment and to be honest, I've never liked ordering consoles from another country...just the games!

I really am starting to want one though, even remembering how cool the US cases were now!! I just wish the PSP had some damn games!

I am bothered by that as well actually, if I'm paying a lot of money for something I want it in perfect condition...I've been lucky, my original DS and my PSP had no dead pixels, so I'm a little apprehensive about it.
