why did Socom slip from 7/10 (US version/offline) to 5/10 (PAL version/online)?

Maybe when Edge noticed it had become such a big mainstream hit they decided to be controversial again. Considering the game's been IMPROVED since the American version this makes absolutely no sense to me.

Cos offline the game is better. Online the game is dire IMO, I've had it for ages and it pants, 5/10 is generous.

Oh, and you can't play the PAL version offline? Because they've ADDED (So to speak) an online mode on since the last review, is no reason to mark it down.

I merely think they have decided they over-rated it before. They spend the whole review banging on about how blimmin' average it is. Besides, a 7 this month would be practically saying they prefer it to RTCW, which they clearly don't.

Seeing as the review was of ONLY the online component, it's NOT a comparison between PAL and NTSC........go read the review.
