Wow, Microsoft were certainly cute when it came to announcing the prices for movies weren't they. The announced price of 380 points for a HD movie seems OK, until you realise that's only for OLD movies. Just went to download 300 but 540 points? Piss off. At Microsoft prices that's almost ?5. For a 24 hour rental.

Very cheeky of them.

Still, 540 works out at ?4.59 ish. Considering I paid ?9.45 each for two cinema tickets last Friday, even the higher price isn't that bad. Maybe I'm getting old, but I prefer watching films in my living room to the cinema these days (and at those prices, who can blame me).

I'm with you on that - you can stop it and go for a piss whenever you want and you don't get scalped for a skanky bag of stale popcorn and a flat cup of coke.... Looking at ?30 for a trip to the Cinema these days.... it's a joke!

Do you have to have a 120gb hard drive in order to watch movies as I went for a preview and it said it couldnt detect storage device?? I have plenty of space free, its gonna piss me off if they force you to upgrade

Xbox Live users can expect to see movies released on the service approximately five months after the theatrical release.

"Typically what happens in the way that the industry works is that first you get the theatrical release, then three months later the DVD retail and rental window opens, and then VOD and pay-per-view is currently set 60 days after that," Burrowes said.

I haven't had that problem. Watched the preview of The Matrix fine this afternoon. Only got 1.5 gb or so free on my HDD.

still, thats a lot of money for 3 maps. I think I'll wait for them to be free before I get them.

This first map pack at least should have been free from the start for the amount of money Halo 3 has made.
