For ages now I've been moaning like a little child going `wah wah wah, why can't you turn off all notifications except achievements?, cry cry cry, I don't want to see Person X is online when I'm achievement hunting!..`

Well it turns out you can. Just set your status to busy and it doesn't show you anything except achievement messages and other important system messages (controller disconnects etc).

It never used to do this, I'm sure of it?

ME2 and my most wanted 360 feature in the same day? Amazing scenes.

Yes. Well rather, you still get them, but you won't receive pop up notifications about them.

brilliant...seeing as everybody seems to come online at 5 minute intervals while i'm watcjing football on the skyplayer that news comes in handy.

yeah but if i click that I forget ive done it then end up spending too much time trying to unlock achievements that have popped, with me thinking I failed each time, when I go back to gaming

I nearly threw my box out the window getting the combos in batman before I looked again and saw I got them 20 minutes before

Yes but as Loftgroover said, and the point of my original post, the difference is that if you do that, you can't separate system messages like achievements from messages of "XXX is online".

Set it to busy and it filters out the latter notifications.

They should have given us more notification customisation options a long time ago, along with the ability to choose the position they appear on the screen.

My most wanted feature is for the "SoAndSo has sent you a message" to just display the message if it's reasonably short enough (e.g "SoAndSo: yes, ok"). It already does it for the MSN Messenger integration, so can't be that difficult.

Next week's deal is BF1943 for 800 points. Brilliant. As with MvC2 it's more than it cost as part of the Christmas deal, and available to less people.

It is lame that from the entire XBLA back catalog we get repeat deals, there is so much old stuff that could benefit from a price drop as well.

That is true, myself included. Know I missed a couple of deals cause I was just too busy to get onto xbox with family round over christmas. Was shocked to see three deals this week, hope it becomes more like PSN Special Offers in that respect with a couple of deals/DLC/games a week or more.

Some people didn't miss it, and with hundreds or thousands of pieces of paid content on XBL the need to repeat shouldn't be there.

Some people will miss it this week, should they have it next week too? And the week after that? Forever?
