Special credit to the devs for calling one of the missions operation cock block

Great trailer, my interest is certainly piqued.

"The game takes its sweet time, deploying plenty of puzzles, goofy minigames and segments that ask the player to do nothing but walk along and soak up the atmosphere"

Cool, I like this sort of fun little stuff in games, I'm bored with the standard "here spawns some enemies, shoot them and repeat million times" games. I like to admire the scenery and attention to little details in games and have some peaceful, atmospheric breaks between the action scenes.

The recent article on Eurogamer was pretty critical of the game, mainly because of the outdated tech. That said, I wouldn't care if the game still uses the Duke Nukem 3D engine, I can't wait for this. Concerns about whether or not the humour is still funny are valid (we are 12 years older), and it is very easy to go a bit too far and end up just being silly.... but who didn't smirk a little at 'Operation Cockblock'? Sounds like they've got it just right.

In a market full of psudo-realistic shooters that take themselves too seriously, this should be great fun.

            My feelings exactly.

"Damn, I'd still hit that!" when the giant alien queen (?) arises in the trailer made me laugh.

I know some guy who played this in Vegas last week, and wrote an article about it.

Lip sync, textures and gameplay are supposed to be on the (very) crappy side, enemy death animations also lag on rocket impact etc.

The sense of humour is great with remarks about Master Chief etc, but other things like the helium voice (when shrunk) are supposed to be annoying. Whats being applauded is that you gain Ego from doing certain things such as drinking a can of beer.

Chances are that this game will suck ass, but who cares, its DNF. Finally.

                BUILD engine ftw.

To be honest, I'm hoping for a game that panders to my inner twelve year old. Tired of grimdark games staring marines with shaved heads.

My only worry was that the gameplay itself from the leaked footage looked incredibly ropey and unfun. Being sniped at from all sides by very accurate aliens didn't look fun.

                    Utterly tasteless.

There's only going to be 2,000 of these available according to Shacknews.

I was going to rant about them not including old builds of the game but it sounds like none of that stuff exists anymore.

A demo?s been confirmed. Likely the same section from PAX.

In fact if you bought the GOTY edition of Borderlands, you get a free early access code for the demo. Not yet anyway. :/

They should delay the game a month for a laugh. For old time's sake

One of the gearbox guys said there would be more than 2k.

I read somewhere later that in the US there would be 25k of them split between Amazon and gamestop but I can't find the quote at the moment.

No firm details for the foreign C.E. yet.

Not normally into these CE boxes but for a game which has been such a long time coming I feel the need to celebrate and buy that mammoth boxset.

What is the attraction with including poker chips and playing cards in collector editions all of a sudden?

Are they THAT cheap to produce?

And what will that bust be made of? Foam? Honestly, just bring back the days of the 40-50 quid collector edition with art book and soundtrack CD that didn't include crappy statues which called for a nigh on 100 quid price tag
