As i've said before (and i'll say it again) NCL consider Warioware killer app in Japan because of its popularity and know they can make mega bucks from its sales.

Anyway, if it was that quick and easy to develop (as you clearly state) NCL would've had this available for launch in the US/UK as well.

Naturally Nintendo are going to hype up their own console, but do they genuinely think we'll believe the demand for the Wii is that high? I for one do not reckon it'll be that hard to acquire a console before Christmas, even without preordering.

Me too, maybe in the US/JPN a pre-order is essential to get the system but, the UK market (traditionally) isn't a strong one for Nintendo, hence why they keep screwing it all the time.

Doesn't the Q only run DVD's over S-Video anyway? Better to get an RGB Scart-based DVD Player anyway for ?20.

You must surely be the only person in the developed world without a DVD player.

Do you own a television set?

Hmm, I wonder if a shiny Panasonic Wii will appear at some point with DVD capabilities?

It would be... the Panasonic R

20 Million Launch Wii's Not Enough for Demand

                        and so it begins again....

                        choice extracts include...
"The stock that we're looking to get we believe will probably be more than we've ever had for any console launch. But from the feedback we've had from our retailers, whatever we have won't be enough as the demand from people is really heating up for it."

Asked if this meant he expected shortages of Wii hardware this Christmas, Yarnton clarified: "Most definitely. I think if we could produce 20 million it wouldn't be enough on a global basis because it's really something that's going to appeal to people who are not gamers as well.

Sounds like the excuses and hype have started already! Whatever happened to a nice, simple launch where there's enough for everyone? I thought that they'd been making (at least some) parts of the Wiis for a while now so there wouldn't be shortages at launch?

I know, how hard can it be to make some plastic cases & shove an old Game Cube inside?!
Maybe they're still trawling the bargain bins for old Game Cubes!
