The curvature isnt a problem either.

If you look at the plug on the reciever you will see the curved bit is level with the plug so even plugged into the flat inputs on the wii it will still fit.

      Sensor cable?

As all my games kit is in a cupboard away from my plasma (tuner box also in cupboard) will I need to run the sensor cable back to the cupboard?

Pitty it couldnt be wireless too

They've confirmed that wavebirds WILL work. Apparently they fit on top of the console.

Can you close the little flap at the top with the reciever in, to keep it looking tidy?

I can see myself buying the classic controller regardless, mind.

              ...

Actually this could be great for me. When my wife and I have a "discussion", she always remarks that "all you do is play games!". This however will show her that I have no time to play games (I played Resi 4 exclusively until I finished it. I started on 27 Dec 2005 and finished it on 23 June 2006 and play time was 21 hours. I figure thats about 3hrs and 10 mins a month. Hardly, excessive...)

              Historical Wii FTW.

While the reciever is plugged in? A very obvious no.

Seeing that video I think I prefer the Wii without the stand.

The way he said that you can play Twilight Princess 3 weeks after the Wii version hits and not quite as good just made me want to play the Cube version more.

                      What a smarmy muppet!!

Still, only 10 weeks to go and I'll be...erm...good to go!!

Eurogamer - Wii upholds Cube region lock(News)

                        by Tom Bramwell Tom Bramwell

Nintendo UK has confirmed to Eurogamer that the Wii's region locking will extend to GameCube games.

A company spokesperson also said that Virtual Console game releases would not be universal - in other words, European gamers will get European versions of the games.

The news paints a slightly clearer picture of the circumstances surrounding Wii's backwards compatibility in the run-up to the console's 8th December launch.

The console is known to be compatible with all GameCube software, and peripherals including controllers and memory cards, while Virtual Console will deliver titles from systems including NES, Super NES, Nintendo 64, Megadrive and TurboGrafx at the rate of around 10 per month.

In answering our queries, culled from some of your recent forum threads, Nintendo also said that it expects to release RGB and component video cables that fit current pricing models.

It declined to comment on recent reports, supposedly surfacing in Nintendo Power, that Virtual Console will also host Commodore 64 games in future.

Well that's going to be a rather poor range of Turbografx games :-(
It means no Earthbound / Chronotrigger etc. on the SNES (one of the main draws for me).

I'm actually quite upset. Why couldn't they just open up all regions. Idiots. I'm going to get a US one and sell my preorder. Nice one Nintendo.

Unless they block non US/Japanese IP's from accessing their servers. Or something..

I wonder if that means they'll also be running at 50Hz with big borders?
