I'm on the reserve list. Balls to 'em though if not. It's taking place at a certain place where a certain event was once held.

I'm not touching the Wii until its proven to be worth having. After the failures that were the N64 and Gamecube you'd be crazy to buy this system at launch. Most people know dick about this console yet everyone is going to buy it? Worse still, nobody has played the games yet (apart from a few at E3 and some members of the press).

        Madness.

I think I will still get one - I want a new console and I don't want a PS3. There may be a lot of consumers who share that opinion.
I just hope it goes as well as the DS for Ninty, I think they need a break.

Yeah totally mate! They made profit for Nintendo AND had some of the greatest games ever created released for them! It's sheer MADNESS that I would still trust Nintendo, the little blighters.

And still they sold less units than the Xbox and PS2! It takes more than a few Nintendo games to make your console a success, mate.

Yeh, I'm not going to buy a Wii or any Nintendo product ever again because the Gamecube and the N64 didn't sell as much as the Xbox, Playstation I/II. FFS. I'm buying it because it is a brand new experience, not the same experience rehashed in HD with the excuse to bump the prices up.

                Good arguement.

They may not have sold as much as the competition but Nintendo still made money out of them and they still provided much entertainment to me and my friends with many quality games to play. Single player and multiplayer. I couldnt have asked for much more really.. maybe a bit more 3rd party support but hey that's why i have an xbox too.
We havent played PS3 games yet but people are still gonna buy one... The wii promises to take gaming and add a lease of life to it.. no-one knows if it will Succeed but after the success that was the DS I'm willing to trust Nintendo again.. afterall I owe them for providing hours upon hours upon hours of entertainment.

N64 sold naff all, but is probably the finest videogames console in history. What's your point MrDo?

I've played enough of the Wii to know it's great. Launch console plz thx

Even so, it is completely ludicrous to suggest that it is 'madness' for people to buy the Wii at launch due to your belief that the N64 and Gamecube were a 'failure'. I personally have had my best gaming experiences with the N64 and it produced some of my favourite games and therefore I have no worries about purchasing a Wii at launch.

In terms of number of units sold and using this as an indictor of success then I disagree with you. It all depends on how you define 'success'. Sure the N64 and Gamecube didn't sell as well as the Playstation and Playstation 2, but can you really say that two consoles that brought us some monumental titles (Mario 64 for example) and which also made a significant profit for Nintendo (which I'm sure is how they define success first and foremost) a failure. I don't think so.

Why is there so much negativity towards Nintendo sometimes?
If I think back to all the consoles Ive owned and games I have played over the years I always instantly remember the Nintendo classics.

Wii is going to be a revelation. Hopefully at the price points suggested for its release it should be a top seller this Christmas and hopefully offer a fresh new gaming experience. I have no doubt that Nintendo are going to do well with it.

It's nowhere as bad as what Sony are getting.

I simply hope that not every single Wii game HAS to use the unique controller method because I fear it could get rather boring just like - despite being different - the EyeToy.

I still reckon that the Wii is suitable for party and multi-player games rather than the focus on single player and online play, which doesn't worry me as the GameCube was always a multi-player system for me.

                            Lets wait and see.

If this is launched in November will it be the shortest time between a console release date annoucement and actual date?
