        Some oldies...

Uridium on C64 - Best shmup ever.

        Sentinel, also C64 - Crammond's creepy masterpiece.

Dungeon Master - ST / Amiga, also on SNES and PC - Still un-matched dungeon crawler although Eye of the Beholder II came close.

Prince of Persia - SNES version ruled the roost.

Mark of Kri part 2, Rise of the Kasai, US only atm, well worth it for fans of the original.

So is Mark of Kri worth checking out? It's been mentioned a few times.

I remember skimming over the time extended article on it a while back. Perhaps I should hunt that copy of Edge down.

Mark Of Kri is weird. It seems generic in parts but is mainly very beautiful, playable and incredibly violent in feel (though it always seems like it shouldn't be.) Definitely a 'cult game'!

Hmm. I don't feel the console versions of Alien Hominid recieved enough attention, not even from the nerdy internet masses. I mean, didn't really expect it to go flying off the shelves, but I had hopes for at least some nerd cult following. It really is a highly original, fun and (at times) ****ing hard sidescroller. Also has a great soundtrack, and the mini-games are some of the best mini-games evahr (Super Soviet Missile Mastar? That PDA game for 4 players, each controlling their own stickman around 100 levels? The cake-eating one?). Seriously, if you stumble upon it for a tenner, pick it the **** up.

Oh, and Crash Team Racing for the PS1. It's much much better than any Mario Kart game, yet people may never know.

I'm going for ActRaiser. As with games like Panzer Dragoon Saga and Radiant Silvergun, it's one of those titles that many have heard of, but not necessarily played/strike. Oh and it's ****ing excellent as well

I agree that alien hominid is fun, but 'highly original'? METAL SLUG.

Yeah I hunted down Alien Hominid a few weeks back. That's some classic, old-school, hand-drawn goodness right there.
And it attempts to do a lot more with the formula than I expected it to... level 1-2 is fecking awesome!

Also, "Super Soviet Missile Mastar" is the only incidence I can remember of a game printing

Did they sell that badly? They were both brilliant.

I'd back up Terranigma which has been completely overlooked and Killer7. Could also add in Ys Complete I + II for the PC if that hasn't already been mentioned, a lot of fun and the music is great.

                                Edit:
