I'm more than happy with the exclusive content on the 360, especially considering the console is only seven months old. I think your expectations are well out of kilter. I call your bluff on whether you've played them all too (haven't seen you active in the Chrome Hounds thread. Playing the demo doesn't count).

And this tired old argument that many are sequels that offer nothing new except a graphical enhancement is getting a bit stale now, so time to put that dog to rest. The plain fact is that the vast majority of great games do nothing new, they just refine and improve what went before. Not every great game is going to be a Katamari or a Lemmings. Expecting entirely new gameplay experiences just because we have a new generation of consoles is delusional.

But what we can expect (and indeed demand) is innovation in small steps and the best games of today offer this. PGR3 may be a 'visually improved sequel' to you, but the additions of the superb in car view, Gotham TV and the photo mode evolve the package. Amped 3 is actually not actually technically advanced at all, but it is a next generation title in the sense of openness, maturity and accessibility.

Plus you have all the new advanced features of Live. Not everything next generation is measured by polygons.

You only need to skim the threads on these titles and games like RR6 to feel the love. And then i look to the future and see Dead Rising, Mass Effect, Gears of war, Lost Planet, Forza 2, Fable 2........

    PC Ports? PC Schmorts!

Not all Corps act or think like EA thankfully enough , and it works both ways there's been some classic console games go to the PC.

Aye - and you want to see the spec you generally need to run it properly - I'm looking at Halo specifically just now 8)

And I wonder how a PC would manage Ninja Gaiden or DOAXVB. I guess the DMC3 port should be interesting as it's the ancient(!) PS2.

PC ports are good for the XBox 360 because not everyone likes to install a game on a pc and then tinker with the settings (control or graphics) to get the game running perfectly - it can be far too troublesome.

As with most things, it comes down to the individual game as to whether it's good that it got ported to the 360 or not. In general, if it's a good game that's fun to play and some effort is put into the conversion, then I see no problem at all. Does it matter if a game is available on another platform? A good game is a good game, no matter if it's 100% original or a port from a different platform.

Pc ports i do not mind to much really after all not everyone can afford a top of the range pc.
Think the dreamcast had a few ports like incoming and expendable

however the fact is the games for the x360 have not excited me be they pc ports or exclusives (also i think condemned came out for the x360 then went to the pc)

Oh until senko no ronde comes out then i might get a x360

don't get me wrong, i like my PGR3 copy as well and share the enthusiasm about Xbox Live and some of the forthcoming games - you named them pretty much all except from Halo 3.

but like i said so many time already in this forum: it's doesn't drive the games industry and wont help making more exciting games if we always keep pretending everthing is fine. i think the more gamers are able to look from a critical angle on their beloved hobby the more will the industry react to their demands and possibly change something for the better.

and, Brats, are you serious about the Chrome Hounds comment you made? sorry, i wish i had the money to buy even the games that already left a bad impression with their playable demo. and for the time being, i can't get my hands on any review copys

but i liked the Kameo demo and i am thinking of purchasing the game second hand on the next occasion.

What do you want them to change exactly the majority of people are happy with the way things are, they would be happy with Halo 333, Metal Gear 2000 and Devil May Cry 9003 im one of these people to be honest. Yes i love original and creative games like Killer7 and Ico but i dont see what has to change really. You talk as if MS have done nothing since they entered the console market. I personally think MS and Devs using Xbox Live have pushed things forward more then anyone else has in the past 3 or 4 Years, you just have to look at the PS3 online system that Sony are claiming will be in place to see they have taken notice of how much MS have done ie ripping them off.

Live is always one thing PC games will always lack, that level of intergration to bring users together.

Oh and Chromehounds online system is fantastic its a shame you cant see past the demo as you are missing out on a very good game.

this is like crazy deja vu to the launch of the original Xbox, when people were saying that all we would see are pc ports

Games are now released on all formats, yes you will get games which cross-over the pc and console gaming spectrums but you have always had this since gaming began - its nothing new and its not the fault of Microsoft or the 360 that this takes place.

I dont play PC games, I dont know anyone that does sans Warcraft and point n clicks so consoles are the only way i'll ever play these games.

The Outrun C2C thread was enough to confirm my truths as to why I dont.

has anyone got timeframes for when the post launch big hitters came out for rival formats? I seem to remember most consoles having rather nasty dryspells shortly after their launch periods, I mean after Soul Calibur on the DC, there wasn't a single release of note until Crazy Taxi in March of the following year.
