And this tired old argument that many are sequels that offer nothing new except a graphical enhancement is getting a bit stale now, so time to put that dog to rest. The plain fact is that the vast majority of great games do nothing new, they just refine and improve what went before. Not every great game is going to be a Katamari or a Lemmings. Expecting entirely new gameplay experiences just because we have a new generation of consoles is delusional.
But what we can expect (and indeed demand) is innovation in small steps and the best games of today offer this. PGR3 may be a 'visually improved sequel' to you, but the additions of the superb in car view, Gotham TV and the photo mode evolve the package. Amped 3 is actually not actually technically advanced at all, but it is a next generation title in the sense of openness, maturity and accessibility.
Plus you have all the new advanced features of Live. Not everything next generation is measured by polygons.
You only need to skim the threads on these titles and games like RR6 to feel the love. And then i look to the future and see Dead Rising, Mass Effect, Gears of war, Lost Planet, Forza 2, Fable 2........
