    I got a 360 because...

Soz if this turns out to be a crap thread

Not everybody here was an early adopter and I know there are loads of factors that go into the purchase of a high priced piece of tech but can you put it down to one thing? I've heard peeps saying they are buying a 360 cos they want to play game X or Y so what made you cough up the notes?

For me its was the news that Capcom's Lost Planet demo was going to be a free download that clinched the deal. I just had to play that game as soon as I possibly could...

Burnout 360, Halo 3 and Dead Rising I loved a lot of titles on xbox 1 so it was kinda a no brainer.

Well i got one at launch becuase i loved the Xbox so much, i played it more then my PS2 so i decided id stick with MS. Xbox Live and the new features of Live was another big reason as i tend not to play as many offline games anymore and well Live is just fantastic.

Of course game selection is the biggest factor personally im not a big fan of J-RPG's so the 360's lack of them didnt put me off at all. Where as the masses of action, racing and FPS games are perfect for me. I have my DS for playing different more imaginative games becuase the DS has lots of them. As far as online console gaming i dont really want anything other then shooters and racing games. Although it is nice to see that the new Marvel MMO is coming to the 360 becuase i do like MMO's.

I dont know when it came down to it there wasnt a choice to be made i was always going to get one at launch, just like last gen there was no choice i was always going to get a PS2 at launch.

In the long run for Halo 3, Bioware games, Gears of War, etc.

At launch I got it for COD2 (loved the first one but my PC wouldn't handle the second decently), PGR3, GRAW, and Oblivion. The last two slipped from launch obviously, but still gave us something to play in the lean post-Christmas months. Oh, and the Media Center stuff. And I absolutely loved Xbox Live on the original Xbox (150 hours of RTCW FTW!) so an expanded version could only be a very good thing.

I was so enamoured with xbox live after I finally got my arse into gear and got it setup that getting a 360 became a top priority.

For me it was just an impulse buy. I worked a load of overtime during December, so when the next batches started becoming avaliable, I noticed I had the money sat there doing bugger all, so spent a whole day travelling around south london gamestations till I found a premium.

Bloody glad I did too, as it got me into Xbox Live, which I am loving.

......because I got it cheap - ?220 for the Premium + Table Tennis new from HMV.

To be honest - apart from the odd spell on Geo Wars, it just sits there at the moment.

Because I was bored, really. I was looking for something new to interest me. It didn't do a great job at first to be honest, beyond the initial fancy graphics etc, but now I think it's a fantastic console, and the games are getting better and better

...because I could easily afford it and read enough about the machine to know it was going to be ace. Even then though I was surprised and impressed just how good Xbox Live is and and the machine as a whole.

I'm with 'Boris. The prospect of a better version of Live was to much. Voice chat FTW.

Because I could, to be perfectly honest.

                            I don't regret it.
